depends, are you balling it up on a string and using it like dental floss to clean your colon?
if not, I suggest you get back on you flax right now...

Better ask your plumber...
A piece of wheat bread is:
79 cals
1g fat
2g fiber
13g carb-fiber
3g protein..
I checked other bread variants in my database, and they wern' any better on the fiber front.
So - No....
I do the low-carb thing (when I'm not being tempted by folks on the NC trip w/ Cheesecake on a stick!) So upping fiber intake is also part of that way of eating. To get my daily fiber, I use 2 servings of a flax based cereal (think oatmeal a little smoother consistency)....
Each serving is:
132cals
6g fat
12g fiber
2g carb-fiber
12g protein
25-30g fiber is recommended daily...

I was going to follow-up with Citrate of Magnesia
ever heard of it ?
My Doc says if you find it hard to get on a regular diet of Flax Seed you can use this as a temporary fix.
Bad habits are hard to break and good habits are even harder to start !
Its over the counter but please read this first
Its not for everyone all the time. You would want to consult your Doctor.

I'd advise against that as a solution... I'm no doctor - but when I ran into that stuff at the local CVS - the label said something like "normally taken prior to visits to proctologist - when he wants to see your insides sparkle like porcelin....."

the cit mag is some harsh stuff, it will clean you out in a hurry but isnt reccomended for normal use. this stuff is normally used prior to a colonoscopy or similar procedures. Long term or constant use can cause alot of problems because it severely dehydrates the instetines and the rest of your body. Trust me on this on this as some one who has a chronic GI condition i have been through this more times then i care to remember.
the flax seed, fiber pills, or even increase your fruits and veggie intake is a much better option.

Now the object is to keep it clean. I have lowered my intake of fried foods and mostly grill, steam or bake all my foods now. I love fruit but what they have in the stores has been picked green and some kind of gas has been added to ripen them Yuke! so I take a vitamin C cap two times a week. I'm not big on eating bread but I figured that if I needed fiber whole wheat bread would be a good choice. I need to know how much more fiber I will need and how to get it.
