I'm up for this trip and will be sending in my check. I'll be driving and will need tanks. I'm actually doing a similar dive in Venice Florida in June. Three days water's a bit clearer though.

Are you doing the trip for 3 days or the full 4 days??? Thank you! -ww

(It will be cool to see how the two compare! I've always wanted to do the FL shark teeth diving!)

I will be doing just the 3 days. I think that will do me in for shark's teeth diving for the year. Three days in Venice and three days in the Cooper River is enough.

Ok, I'm in.

This will be my first SD trip and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll drop the check in the mail tomorrow. I'll be flying up and would like DO if a roommate is available.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! :hiya:

Well, as quick as I committed, I'm backing out. I did some additional research and decided this probably isn't a trip for me.

Thanks for understanding.

I wish i could go on this trip, but i still will be on my DAN internship during the trip. I have been reading up on them as of late, and the reading is only making me want to do this trip even more.

I do have a request for those going on the trip could get a tooth or two for me as i have a idea for a pendent and need a couple. the teeth need to be in the 1.5-2.5 in range and all black or gray black in color as a preference.

WE NOW HAVE A SECOND BOAT!!! Don't miss this chance...when its gone its gone! ONLY 2 SPOTS LEFT! -ww

Hey gang...this is a not to be missed trip! We'll dive the Cooper River (15-35 ft deep) to seach for Meglaladon Teeth and other prehistoric teeth ranging from 8million to 60 million years old! :fish:

We'll also comb the river for colonial artifacts such as those pictured below. We will have a limited number of people able to make this trip and its the only 3 day + trip of its kind. Plus you'll be diving with the only River Captain that knows where the 'hidden' spots that other charter groups don't dive on!

Megalodon Teeth...8 Million years old and OTHER prehistoric teeth/fossils a whopping 40-60 Million years old!!! Find them diving 4 dives a day on the Cooper River, SC August 3-5, with an optional EXTRA day of diving Aug. 6th 2006!! TRAVEL DAYS: Aug 2nd and Aug 6th or 7th

Join this exciting and rare diving excursion arriving in Charleston, SC where you'll take a quick shuttle to the Clarion Inn (quite a piece of military history in and of itself!) get settled in and prepare to do 4 one hour dives...yes 4 full (1) hour dives looking for Megalodon Shark Teeth ranging from 4-6 inches across as well as other prehistoric teeth, fossils, pottery and exciting finds in the famous Cooper River. The Cooper River, once part of the ocean is a hotbed of history and we can experience this unique diving opportunity with one of the most renown dive operators on the River. River diving is quite an art...many operators will dive the river every weekend where due to tides you can only get 2 dives in during the day or maybe 3. Off the Wall Diving Charters our dive operator picks only the weekends where the tides will let you get in 4 dives up to one hour each in! In other words, twice the opporunity to find teeth for the same price as everyone else! And knowing the river like Bill aka OTWDiver, owner of OffTheWallDiving.com, does, he will safely put us on the rich gravel beds full of teeth, guide us to the transition points where new teeth are being uncovered and share with us new spots that he is continuosly exploring so that we too can find these rare precious artifacts and LOTS of them! Don't miss this great opportunity limited to the first lucky 6 divers to do this unique and adventourous dive! And look for some special offers for ONLY SD members that OTWDiver will be offering us! Don't delay...only 6 people can go. Everyone is getting in on the excitement...see what Sharkdiving Magazine has to say about their first shark tooth expedition...

We are excited to offer our first Cooper River Megalodon teeth shark tooth hunting trip! While we normally search out the live animals...no shark adventure would be complete without exploring the grand daddy of them all...the Megalodon!

Cooper River, SC Megalodon Shark Tooth & Artifact Hunting Trip for $655* d/o "Fly In" or $605* d/o "Drive In" (has one less night hotel) plus air/transport to Charleston, SC.(less $25 discount if paid in full by Feb 25, 2007) and (see me for help on air fare rates) you'll have a once in a lifetime opportunity to find Megalodon teeth, 1800 century bottles, Arrow Heads, and more! The Cooper River trip is limited to 12 people so don't delay! Note: You can also do an EXTRA day of diving on August 6th for $155 which includes hotel and diving...see below for details!

Here is the full information on the trip:

TEMPS & CONDITIONS:

The weather in South Carolina is remarkably consistent all summer and perfect for this kind of diving. The temperatures range in the mid to high 80's during this time of year and the water temps are in the mid 80's making this truly diving in comfort!

AIRFARE:

We'll fly into Charleston, SC which is where the Cooper River is located. Alternately you can fly into Columbia, SC which is a 1.5 hr drive or Atlanta but it is a 6 hr drive or you can fly into Greenville Spartenburg but that is approx a 3 hr drive. We'll be using domestic carriers so for a small fee we'll make your arrangements for you otherwise you are more than welcome to make your own arrangements.

ARRIVAL:

Please plan to be in Charleston by 7:30 pm if you want to do a group dinner the night before. Otherwise we'll see you at breakfast at 6am the next morning in the hotel restuarant!

________________________________________
SCHEDULED ITINERARY

Aug 2nd Arrive in South Carolina (most likely Charleston and meet for dinner 7pm)
Aug 3rd Breakfast at 6am at the hotel. First dive at 7am or 7:30 am with subsequent dives at approx 10 am, 1 pm and 3:30pm. (Dive times are contingent on the tides and currents). SD will prepare a traditional cookout so all you have to do is clean up, relax, eat and enjoy! Dinner will be approx 7:30pm
Aug 4thth Breakfast at 6am and the same dive plan as the day before. Group Dinner will be approx 7:30pm nightly at a local eatery!
Aug 5th Breakfast at 6am and the same dive plan as the day before. Group Dinner will be approx 7:30pm nightly at another great local eatery!
Aug 6th Departure Day or OPTIONAL EXTRA DAY OF DIVING for those who wish to get extra dives in! (We only need 4 divers in addition to myself to run one of the boats!)
Aug 7th Departure Day for those who stay the extra day of diving. (Last year more exeptional finds were made that last day than almost the preceding 3 days combined!)

WHAT YOU'LL SEE:

You'll be doing a night dive in the middle of the day. Its not muck diving...simply night diving as you descend 20-40 feet to the bottom of the River. You'll drop in 'heavy' and as you descend to the bottom you'll see the water go from a red color to a dark tea color but with your lights on you'll have as much visibility as your light will give you. And more than enough to see the 'teeth' and artifacts in the gravel beds of the river bottom! You can drop straight down...or go down the anchor chain as a visual reference.

Tankboy26 wants a spot on the boat. My check is in the mail. I'm sending $400.00 since it is after the May date for the second installment. I will be driving in and will only need air--I have my onw tanks and weights. I'm OK with doubling up with someone if that is available. If not, I'll take a single room. Please advise me of any thing else that I must do for this trip.

Favor: Would everyone check the first post to see if I have the correct information for you...such as are you renting tanks or bringing your own? What days are you arriving and leaving? Are you doing the extra day of diving with us which is the 4th day???

Info looks good. DiverVic & I will be staying 5 nights, diving the extra day. I'm all set with tanks, but DiverVic will be renting.

For the last payment, should the air fills and / or tank rentals be included or do we take care of that once in SC ? thx
