I will quit my good paying Engineering job (Engineering Advisor for a law firm) and move for 1 year to Thailand to make my Diving instructor and internship, currently have the Rescue diver. First will be the Dive Master course, then working as an intern for the dive operator for a few weeks and later taking the IDC to Open Water Scuba Instructor.
I want to chill out for one year and live a more leisure life. Not sure how leisure it will be diving every day and being on the boat just about every day. Anybody that did this please share your experience from your expectation to how you liked it. Thanks

which company did you decide on?

I've gotten reliable feedback on this place: http://www.aquanautsdive.com/

I know someone who did their DM course and said they are fantastic

they are very expensive and located in Pattaya, which is about the worse tourist location one can be in in my opinion. Just my 2 cents.
I will be in Koh Samui where I did dive just a month ago with Easy Divers http://easydiverssamui.com/index.html
I know them and have gotten their letter of recommendation for my 1 year Visa.

Excellent!

I've heard visa's can be difficult to come by for that duration. Sounds like you have it all planned and everything taken care of!

Good luck by the way! Just the few places I looked at under accomodations look great and I bet the diving is wonderful
