I was in the Florida Keys this past weekend on one of my certification trips, and my wife tagged along with the group. We got to go diving together yesterday, after all the students were certified. This is the first time she has gone diving in about 5-6 years, so I guess I am no longer MBBL.

So does this mean I can no longer post on SingleDivers.com? :teeth:

BTW, the shop I was diving with (Conch Republic) has a huge SD sticker on the rinse bucket in their boat. It kind of made me wonder who else from the board has been diving with them.

Congratulations on getting her back in the water! That is great news. And of course you are still welcome to post on the board and go on SD trips and bring your wife along as well. :lmao: Now you'll have to tell all the other MBBLs how you did it.

She is actually Full Cave certified, but hasn't done a cave dive in 7-8 years. She had to give it up because she developed problems with her knees, which were being compounded by the weight of the doubles.

So does this mean I can no longer post on SingleDivers.com? :P

Absolutely not! Congrats that she is back diving with you, but there is no need to stop posting or attending SD adventures! I have a number of fantastic local dive buddies, but they aren't always able to dive every single time I am and having met a number of divers through SD, my range of dive buddies has grown significantly. Not to mention I have made some wonderful wonderful friends here as well (the guilty inner-circle shall remain nameless.... :lmao:).

Keep on posting and contributing - you always have a great stuff to share!

Now you'll have to tell all the other MBBLs how you did it.

The trip happened to coincide with our 26th wedding anniversary, and I invited her to go along as a kind of anniversary present - so there was really no way she could say "no".

A couple of years ago, a large gathering of SDers took place in the Keys and Conch was the operation of choice. A buddy and I were down there and 'marked' some additional SD turf on a different trip!!

Keep on posting and congrats to you and your bride-many happy diving years together!!!

I've been using CRD for cert trips for about 10 years now. I started with them in 1997, when Tommy and Cynthia owned the shop. The current owners (Gary and Brenda Mace) are great folks, and have always been very helpful and accommodating. I'm glad to see that others at SD feel the same way about their operation.

That is awesome that your wife is diving again Jim! And no, definitely no need for you to go away just because she is back diving with you. You are part of our SD family and once family, always family. Besides, as Nicolle said, she may not be able to dive with you all the time and this is where your handy SD family comes in :o

Glad to hear your wife is back in the water. I am buddyless when I am in Virginia, but when I'm in Florida, Donna is my best buddy. Doesn't stop me from posting. Gary and Brenda are wonderful. There are a bunch of people from another board (some of them this one, too) that are invading the keys this July and we are diving with Conch Republic.

DBD is right...sometimes you get lucky and get to dive with your best buddy! Our moniker MBBD or Married but Buddyless Diver just means that sometimes you go diving without your spouse. So if you EVER go diving without your spouse you are a MBBD!

As for the suggestion to join us on a trip...OF COURSE YOU CAN! With or without the wife!

I always make this offer but rarely does anyone take us up on it! Of course if we ever reach the point where LOTS of people take us up on it then we may need to limit how many couples are on a trip so that we don't lose our single and buddyless flavor.

And DustBowlDiver...thanks for putting up more stickers for us! You are the BEST!!! :thankyou:

And yes Conch Republic Divers are great! We had a blast with them!
