At this point, you just need Advanced Nitrox in order to start to make the switch. The skills are related but different. I liken it to flying a helicopter versus an airplane (without actually being either). Both are flying, but I doubt that an experienced airplane pilot could jump into the helicopter pilot's seat and hover perfectly two feet from the ground without practice first. Trust me, everyone sucks in the beginning no matter how special your mother told you that you are. :tears:

I chose to goto a rebreather because I don't like the idea of lugging doubles around. I've seen my buddy do it so much that I don't think it's worth it. Also the rebreather (IMO) is safer and it gives you longer bottom times, and more interaction with waterlife.

I got in another hour on the rebreather 2 weeks ago... all I can say is WOW!! We just went in to get more time on them and my instructor saw how comfortable I was, so he starting throwing drills at me...... we turned off the o2 tank, I ran the unit manually, also ran it at different setpoints manually, few other drills I can't remember right now.... but after we were done, we have an hour underwater!! Goes by fast when you're having fun.
