Add making mental notes of exit locations as well...

Not all us military guys think this way.

I enter a room and I fully understand that I will exit that room WHEREEVER I need to. If there isn't an exit where I need it, I'll make one!

LOL thats so true. My main thing is makeing sure the door is shut and locked. I will open and slam a door about 5 times then I have to make sure the lock is all the way turned and the chain is pushed all the way over. I do the same with the light swiches and telephones ... I have to make sure they are off and no one bugged the phone to listen in on me. I know that sounds crazy but you never know who is watching you. LOL
