Good luck Tank!! I went through the Rescue cert last fall and absolutely LOVED it! It's a great course - and you learn so much! You can read my report on my Rescue training here

Ahhh, Rescue... It is a great course with lots of self-rescue techniques. They teach you to think and look ahead to stop problems before they start. Have fun...

Of all the clases that I have taken, Rescue was probably the most pure out and out fun.Hard work but fun.

Absolutely!

It helps a lot of people with their comfort level once they know how to rescue themselves and others, and gain the confidence to do so that the training will give you.

I'd agree with this too

it's a cert you'll have to earn thru hard work and lots of fun! I probably learned more about myself as a diver via this course than any others except maybe my TDI Adv Nitrox and Deco Procedures classes

I take my Rescue class work on 9/13 and 9/20 and then I'm off to Dutch Springs the weekend of 9/29 for the "pool" work.

Good luck!! The rescue certification is the minimum level all divers should be. As everyone has said it is a great course that makes you a much better diver.

I just got home from my rescue weekend. Wow! It was fantastic. I am totally worn out but it was so fun and very helpful information. I feel much more prepared for encountering atypical dive situations now and realize in retrospect that several of the scenarios actually happened to one of the other divers on a trip I was on just after my OW cert. I knew something was up, but the rescue divers on the trip were so smooth things were back in line before I figured out what happened. Something to aspire to now that I am familiar with the techniques. All I have to do now is take the written exam and it is done. Yippee :diver:

You did the physical stuff before you took the exam? My class is the opposite. We do the classwork and exam first then we practice in the water

We did the classwork two weeks ago, the pool work on Thursday of this week and the open water scenarios at the lake this weekend. We make an appointment to go in and take the test sometime in the next week or so now that we have the knowledge of how to use the skills in action. I kinda like it this way....now that I have applied the skills I think the test should make more sense. At least for me it will.
