I made it through yesterday. After a grueling 12hrs of training & testing, I passed all my tests for my Dive Control Specialist certification. It's not quite official just yet, as we still have one more class to go next week, to pick up a couple of things we didn't get to due to time & to square away the paper work. Yesterday consisted of a retake of the written exam for those who didn't make it the first round (I passed the first round, so it was time to prepare for presentations, for me), a 400yd swim, 20 min tread, 800yd in mask fins & snorkel & a 100yd tired diver tow (All these timed). There was also a classroom teaching presentation, confined water teaching presentation, Open Water teaching evaluation, skills demonstration evaluation, and about a 20 min., of very intense (to me anyway), situational evaluation where the instructors went around & turned off air valves, yanked off masks & fins, loosened tanks & grabbed regulators out of mouths. I'm sorer than all get out today, but I survived & passed all the tests!!!

Congrats!!
That's a great accomplishment! You should be proud of yourself, especially for passing that test on the first try. Almost no one passes the first time - IT'S HARD!! Welcome to the ranks of dive professionals!!

As for me, I'm feeling pretty scubalicious.

Thank you. Yes, it's the first time through for me. I've been working my rear off on it. You're right, it's been hard, but in a lot of ways it's also been quite fun. It's not quite official just yet, but we will do a final class (hands on equipment stuff) & the paperwork to send out next week.

Thank you all. I do appreciate it. I, now, just can't wait to finish up that last class, get things in order & sent off & for it to become official. This is a goal I've looked to & wanted to achieve since last year.
