Ooohhh you are right. The $480 fare on Air Jamaica from Atlanta is gone, and other options are $700 and up. It may be too late now for me to do this trip because of the air fare increases.

I just looked up Delta from Atlanta - prices at $505.80

Oh no, my bad!!! My Orbitz and Travelocity queries were doing BHM and not ATL. Guess it isn't too bad afterall.

as long as you can fly from Atlanta!

I checked Delta from DFW to CUR..looks like high 600's for now; that's about what I paid for Bonaire on AA

Sometimes it is much easier to make the 2 hour drive to Atlanta to get better prices and flexibility with schedules. But with the gas prices so high, I may not exercise that option too often!

Up from 531.00 on American to 655.00 on Delta from Columbus Ohio. But it is a much shorter flight so I have that going for me.

it is a good thing that you have different airports to fly from

In DFW, we'd have to drive 5 hours to Houston for different prices and the difference just isn't enough most of the time. And then the price of gas has gotten so high :o

Hey everyone...

Its just not my day...I had a battle with the tax appeals office today and lost. :diver: To make matters worse the ac went out on my truck and there was a huge accident a mile from my tax appointment delaying traffic over an hour. No movement...no breeze...so I was drenched when I finally got to my tax appeals session. :lmao:

And now I've just lost all my work on posting this trip so have to recreate it which will take several hours. :cool1:

So...

Here is the pricing summary of the trip. This is firm so you can start booking airfare...

but you won't be able to sign up for the trip until I recreate the full trip details.

However I want you all to know the following:

1. The trip is firm...we are doing it regardless of the number of people that sign up.
2. We can take 33 divers right now who want to dive in the am. Or 66 if half want to do pm boat dives and half do am boat dives. If the resort gets the new boat they are looking at getting we can do 45 divers in the am and 45 divers in the pm.
3. There is no limit on non-divers.
4. The dates are Nov 8-15. (you can arrive early but you can not stay late as there are NO rooms in the hotel)
5. The 7 day official pkg includes:

•7 night all inclusive including ALL meals (3 meals daily served), ALL beverages (including sodas and alcohol but top shelf is extra), Hotel and service taxes, use of other resort amenities & complementary shuttle to Willemstad. Includes round trip airport transfers, 2 tanks diving daily for 5 days, and UNLIMITED shorediving.

We have several special offers as part of our pkg.

1. $50 instant savings
2. $100 discount if paid in full by 6-10-08
3. $50 Buddy Bucks for new members to SingleDivers.com that join in on this trip. (So tell that friend you've been meaning to tell about SD and get them to join SD and this trip!)
4. Get a chance at an Oceanfront Terrace room for the price of a Superior (limited to a total of 14 people. Everyone who signs up and pays in full by July 15th will be eligible for the drawing.)
5. Get a chance at an 1 bedroom loft for the price of a Junior Suite (limited to a total of 5 people. Everyone who signs up and pays in fully by July 15th will be eligible for the drawing.)

Possible additional savings are being looked at one of which includes opting out of several of the dinners at the resort and going to other restaurants on the island. (Transport to those restaraunts would not be included.)

Tim, FYI I spent a week at Sunset Waters-Divers 1st week in April and saw "0" rebreather divers or setups and they put on a extra boat for the week, resort nearly full.. Don't believe I saw any back-plate/wings at all. Good Luck.

Hi,
I'm in the same club as Tim - I don't have a card, but I'm up for 4 dives a day. How much will additional dives be?

WW - I'm sorry you had a bad day and I hope things get better quickly.
If you need motivation I could challenge netmage and scubaski to a race to see who can sign up first once you post the details. :)

ciao,
Tammie

Fair enough and I'll answer this question then! :2cool:

Since the trip is firm, I went ahead and purchased my ticket. As Fingrabber pointed out yesterday, there is a $505 fare from Atlanta, so I jumped on it!!!

That is a good price. The only challenge for me flying through Miami is that it gets me into Curacao at 8:10pm on the 8th and having to leave at 9:10am on the 15th.

Do we have the same issues with orientation on the first day of diving in Curacao like we did Bonaire?

I will find out about orientation today. Gosh I hope not! Maybe one of our Sunset Water vets can tell us while I'm waiting on the answer.

And I arrive at 8:10pm on the 8th. So we will be on the same flight if you are on AA

The difference is probably on the back side where you can take a flight out at 3:30pm out of Curacao, which still gives you five mornings of diving Monday-Friday. I can't make a connection back to Denver using that flight without an overnight in Miami (or Dallas).

The Atlanta option, while $100 more would involve doing a red-eye out of Denver on the 8th to catch the morning flight out, but would give me an afternoon departure on the 15th.
