Kamala,
I know you have been working on this trip w/ Quero. I'm in for the diving as soon as you get it sorted, but on suggestion (Quero help me here), the Similans/Richelieu Rock LOB is a must do, but for land based, I used to do a "Phi Phi Special" which was 2 days of diving, one day to Phi Phi island, spend the night on the island the dive your way back to Phuket. In the 6-7 dives on this tripo you gotr to dive all the "good dive", and it used to be very reasonalbly priced. I don't know if they still do this trip, and what the cost is if they do, but my 1 BAR.

Mike, no problem with helping clarify your suggestion, but I don't want to get ahead of Kamala at all; she's got a decent handle on it and is working her way through the details, asking for more information as she digests what I've already given her. As you know, it's a big industry here with a bewildering number of options and permutations.

But in response, to satisfy the curiosity of other members reading this, let me just say that the 2d/1n Phi Phi trip is a possibility, certainly, but it will depend on the itinerary of the LOB. It could be that we end up with a trip that combines the north and south sites, in which case the 2d/1n Phi Phi overnight would be redundant. If, OTOH, our itinerary takes us only north, I will certainly recommend scheduling at least some daytrip diving to the sites visited on the Phi Phi overnighter (I actually list that particular trip among my daytrip options rather than LOB options, and BTW, for those who may be wondering, it's only an overnight on the island, not a full day).

Yea, as i remember get to Phi Phi, check in, clean up, go to dinner, have a few drinks, sleep, get up, eat breakfast board the boat. I think I was on the island a total of 9 hours when I went, because most of the boat wanted to do a night dive at "The Beach" movie beach.

That's right. You board from Phuket early in the morning, do 3 day dives and a night dive (dinner on board), check in at hotel, wander around Ton Sai a bit, sample the "Phi Phi Bucket", up early in the morning, 3 day dives, back at Phuket late afternoon. The price for this coming peak season is THB 11,900 (about $350) for seven dives, meals, lodging, transfers. (You pay for your own Phi Phi Buckets, and in more ways than just with money!)

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

A trip to Thailand should be as rich as the majesty of the country itself. However the best time to dive there is early in the year so our window for 2009 is too tight to properly accommodate this trip, do it right and give everyone enough time to plan to go. Therefore this trip will be planned for 2010.

In the meantime if anyone wants to go in 2009 please contact Quero. She will help you plan a wonderful trip and you can report back to us with all the things we need to see and do! :thankyou:

I'm sorry...but I'm sure others will want to go and we can help you under our individual travel services for which I've been interviewing several real pros to join our team and handle these opportunities for us and you. And I know Quero would love to have you and anyone else who wants to go join her!

I just can't pull it all together soon enough for people and the season does not allow us to push it to April or May so I have to wait until next year.

Hi, Kamala,
I am interested in Thailand and would also be interested in Papau New Guinea.
