Well the irony of it is that at 3am I got a page to go to the airport and pick up a inbound aircrew, which is nothing new but getting up at 3am after being up and running calls all day inst how i would like to be woken up. It wasnt till we picked up the crew that i found out that this was a organ transplant team that was coming to get organs to take back to waiting recipients. Well that made things easier, so we got the team to the hospital and then i got in the back and went back to sleep, figuring i had 2-3 hours as thats what the team told me. well imagine my surprise with 64 minutes later the side door opens to the ambulance and the team hops in and says lets go and "we need to run hot". Well needless to say those words were like a case of Dr Pepper and Monster all at once because i was instantly awake and at the wheel. Leaving the hospital we had to call into our operations center to have them contact Dallas FD to let them know our route so as not to have a Brian Loncar incident. Needless to say i got from downtown Dallas to the airport in 8 minutes, and for the first time no one got in my way while running code which was a first but then again at 6am on a holiday traffic was a little light.
So today is not only independence day but today celebrates that chance for new life as well.
So to quote Bill Pullman from the movie Independence Day
We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
So today now has a duel meaning for me, and one that i will never forget. Now the rest of the day is being spent hopefully by the pool meeting some who i have been talking to for a while now in person.

I will find away to keep the sunblock close at hand. Even if I have to wedge it in my suit.you will most likely fry topside...the parts that hang over the tube try and keep some with you to reapply! welcome to texas...we're not that weird...
The more Texans I meet the better I like them.
Its been a hard adjustment for me ~ I loved living in the PNW ~ I am enjoying meeting new friends and catching up with old friends.

Well, today as my son as officially moved out I'm painting his room! & cleaning up after him (maybe for the last time???? )
Tomorrow, I'm diving and Sunday afternoon I'm diving. Not bad at all!
Where are you diving this afternoon? I'll be on the Sirena (Pura Vida Divers) with a student.

and had dinner at the Alligator Soul back in Savannah that night (very nice).
Went to Tybee Island on the 5th (much nicer than HH despite the rain) .
Slumming in Savannah today on the 6th (great town).

Once in a while, it is good to step back, take a breath, and remember to be humble. You'll never know it all - ScubaDadMiami. If you aren't afraid of dying, there is nothing you can't achieve - Lao-tzu. One dog barks at something, the rest bark at him - Chinese Proverb.

OK! I saw the Deep Obsession while we were doing our SI. You were around the Trench/Dive-a-Rama. Current was ripping. Our first dive was on Bath & Tennis, and we had a very mild current. I couldn't believe the difference in current when we dove the Trench.
