It will be on its way to you right away, Julia. I had to do something to thank the camera gods (and Ana) for finding my camera underwater last week... and I am sure you will pass on the good will to someone else in the future :P

I am also taking Doc's advice about the ID inside the housing -- what a great idea!

It was no big deal silly....i just wanted to be off the surface and in the water LOL

Well Ana ,I too would like to thank you for saving Sapphires camera.
I believe there is a plan to everything we do.
In this case when you found Jennifers camera,
it triggered the plan for Jennifer to give me her camera.
Instead of paying back she paid forward and I will get a camera
identical to the camera I lost.
I am so happy because of what you started.
Now I must pay forward to someone else.
There was a family in todays paper that desperately needs help.
I will ask what I can do for them.

:P

Well Hello Jennifer :wavey:
All is not well in Florida,
but we have already started to rebuild.
I went through Donna in 1960 and I don't remember it being this bad!
I received your camera and it is wonderful.
And it is just like mine, only you have more lens.
It was so great of you to give this to me, :thankyou:
I was not going to go to the Lauderdale get together,
but I have changed my mind.
All my family and friends are safe.
Everything that was taken can be replaced.
Everything broken can be fixed.
I have new friends I would love to meet.
And I have my camera back, that was the deciding vote.
When I get back I will post pictures taken with my new camera.
See Ya
:fish2: :diver: :fish:

The present is a gift
So enjoy it !!

Julia,

I am so sorry about the storm damage that you all are having, that I see on the news. It looks devastating. I hope you are getting the assistance you need.

And I am doubly happy that sending the camera was the deciding vote to get you to go diving with the group - I am sure it will be good for your mental health :thankyou: !

I look forward to seeing many pictures from the trip -- I wish I could have made it work so that I could meet you in person, but there will always be another time.

Hugs,

Jennifer

Julia,

I'm glad you've decided to join us. I'm looking forward to diving with you again!

Donna was this bad. The difference is now you're an adult, then you were a child. You likely have a totally different outlook on things now. Also keep in mind populations are dramatically larger now than they were then. The population of Lee County is approximately 10 times what it was in 1960. Charlotte County (Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte - the areas hardest hit by Charley) has grown even more dramatically. In 1960, Everglades City was the county seat of Collier County. The county seat moved to east Naples because Donna destroyed all the county buildings in Everglades City. My paternal grandparents, in Virginia, thought we were all dead because there was no communications coming out of Fort Myers after Donna passed through. I know how widespread the destruction was and how frightened the adults were. I remember playing in the woods where a great number of the trees were horizontal. I remember flattened houses.

Walter,
How can you remember all that ?
I am older than you and I don't remember all that.
I do have a way of blocking out terrible things that upset me.
Your mind is like a sponge, it soaks up everything.
How do you retain all this?
I am walking around with a brain over load now

Are you sure you're older? We're in the same age range.
