As written by a buddy of mine, regarding Saturday August 7th's diving:

Don't know what would ever possess anyone to dive NAKED in our St. Lawrence but you know FreeFloat. Been diving in 32 degree water this past winter with her in a wetsuit, I in a drysuit.

Her 98 was a NAV at depth out to the Gaskin this afternoon. A nice toasty 70 degrees and not much current, vis was great even after a ship passed 20-45'+.

99 exploring the pipe line and storm drain area near Centeen Park while canuckdiver went for an air refill. Saw an endless cloud of fish in the drain using a HID.

And then for her magical 100th at the Rothesay, but what to wear? I being of sound mind (no comments from the peanut gallery please) was wearing a drysuit and for the 3rd dive of the afternoon wore fleece underneath.

Was a bit warm on the swim out attempting to keep up with Jet Fins FreeFloat. Never seen her move that fast in the water before. Should have seen the looks of disbelief from other divers. What was she thinking, this is afterall CANADA!!!

I could see maybe diving like that in a secluded area of the Carribean but up here??? O well, wonder what she has planned for her 200th??? Could be a spectator sport. Should have some pics to post later, for the inquisitive types. LOL

Was one of the fastest Rothesay dives I've ever completed (24 min) but was worth the show. Especially enjoyed the bewildered looks from others who weren't familiar with our MadWoman FreeFloat. Can you say GOOSE FLESH???

What are some of the crazy things you have tried for your 100th?

I'm glad you wore the bikini, otherwise you could have froze.

HEY! Where's my credit for playing camera man???

:canuckdiver:

Yeah, you can brag once we get the rest of the pics back....... :wakawaka:

Like my other buddy wrote, it was the shortest Rothesay dive we've EVER done - our typical runtime on that wreck is 60 - 70 minutes or whenever we die of boredom. I had to keep stopping and waiting for him ....... of course canuckdiver wasn't gonna get too far out of sight of me, but then, since he had the cameras, that's to be expected. Plus he's an efficient swimmer and never has a problem keeping up with me on any of our previous dives, including those in strong current. Funny thing, though... he seemed to drop back to single-file pretty often.....

Too bad I was chilly toward the end of the dive, or I could've derived more enjoyment out of the shocked looks on the faces of the open water students we startled as they emerged from the swirling clouds of silt to THAT sight............

At the surface (the buoy is some 200' out from shore) canuckdiver urged me to head for shore and he'd swim back with our other buddy at his speed.... I think I was pushing my own wake ahead of me as I headed in, as I was ashore for 5 full minutes before they got out. Teeheehee. On the ride back in, I remember thinking, "Good thing I didn't go through with my original plan of doing this as a Lake dive, I would probably have died of cardiac arrest upon hitting the water after the backroll off the boat."

Oh I forgot to mention, too, that D ring keepers pinch, on land anyway....... :wakawaka:

Thanks - I've just never really had any nice clean shots of me in my typical gear setup, that are good enough to use as avatars. This one was a crop from a larger one showing me about to jump in at eth site of the Gaskin off Centeen Park, Brockville. The stage I was slinging that day (with the maple leaf sticker on it) belongs to Adam.
