Each wreck has a tale to tell about its life and its demise.
If you are observant while diving in dark places listen to the account each has to tell, You cannot come away unaffected.

On April 12 at 12:15 Vandenberg departed Norfolk, Virginia for the long tow to her new home in Key West Florida. More than a decade of work by a dedicated core of volunteers will finally come to fruition. After leaving the shipyard dock, Vandenberg will pass under the Elizabeth River bridge and pass the Hampton Roads bridge-tunnel, the Chesapeake Bay bridge-tunnel, come around the point at the Cape Henry lighthouse and head south.
Cool! Not sure when she will arrive in Key West but it should be in TIME for our May FL Keys Trip!
And for sure in time for our Aug Coral Spawning trip so we'll definately do a trip on her then!
And for the few of us doing the New Atocha Treasure Adventure Week....we'll do a dive on her then as well! (Stay tuned for more details coming soon!)

According to today's position briefing, it should arrive Key West on April 20, but they don't give a scuttle date

I've seen documentaries of other scuttlings, so I hope somebody films this and puts in on Discovery Channel, or Nat Geo, or something!

Estimate now shows off of Cape Canaveral 10:00 Friday.
At 7.7 knots it will get to Delray Beach after sunset.
If anyone can find out a better estimate of location for Friday afternoon or Saturday morning,
I would be happy to make a drive and shell out a few $$$$ to go out on a charter boat and see it.
Everyone at the dive shop thinks its a great idea.

Hey SDM, does your friend know the depth they plan to put her?
The plan is to sink her in about 140 fsw. This will enable hitting the first structure in the 40 to 50 fsw range, and the deck at about 90. They are trying to model it after the Spiegel Grove, and they want to make it so that recreational divers can enjoy diving the site.

My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck.
Let those winds of time blow over my head,
I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead.
