He was the last anchor I really like to watch - he'll be missed :bam:

A part of my news-watching life for as far back as I can remember.....which is back to the old black & white Curtis Mathis console TV that was more like a piece of furniture, and had a radio & turntable (look it up, those who grew up without vinyl!)

He will definitely be missed.

I loved watching him because it was so clear how much he loved what he did for a living. His excitement about the "space race" was utterly contagious....I will NEVER forget his broadcast of the first lunar landing ("Hot dog!!! HOT DOG!!!!"). It was like he invited us in with him as he witnessed that amazing milestone.

Us "baby boomers" were really lucky to listen to him as we were growing up. Hard to believe we won't hear that voice again.....

Your Thoughts

Interesting that his death should come during the 40th Anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. I remember watching news coverage of all of the space flights and CBS had the best programs by far. Cronkite was the best.

RIP and Godspeed Mr Cronkite!

Remember him from the Apollo days when in grade school. Wasn't much of a news watcher then or now! Thanks Al for the internet!! :wakawaka:
