First, I'm no where NEAR a good UW Photographer. I'm a computer geek however, so the software side is a little more my area.

I used a Sealife camera with two strobes (and a homemade arm) and got some great shots for less than $400 total. I recently upgraded to a Sea & Sea Package (only one strobe) for just over $2200 and I was kind of disappointed with the UW shots. I just got back from the Galapogos and I have some photos that are framed amazingly, but due to the strobe limitations, it isn't a frameworthly photo.

The computer software I use is a couple different pieces. First, Infraview is brillant. Install it and use it as you "go to" viewer all the time. It will do 70% of everything you want for free. Then, I use Photoshop for the heavy lifting work. I took classes from an accomplished UW photographer, and learn a ton, yet it was only about 2% of what the package can do.

I also have a program from the Army that helps me catagories photos using facal reconization and other intel metrics, but it isn't availible for the public, so I will not go into that here.

The one problem I have with shooting raw is that it takes alot of time for the camera to recycle. I'm of the "take 1000 photos to get 2 good ones" camp and I need to have a faster recycle time.

Does your Sea and Sea take RAW? Which model is it? I have no problem using RAW underwater with my G10. I'm not of the "point and squirt" persuasion and I never find myself waiting for the camera. According to some "experts" the card speed can have a significant bearing, though I don't know if that's really so. The SD card in my G10 is Class 6 (admittedly the fastest) and it seems to manage very well.

Never heard of "Infraview" but I'm about to try it.

Can't find it. Presumably you mean "Irfanview"?

I use Canon's G10 and its Underwater housing shoot in RAW and then edit my photos with Digital Lightroom I love the results

Peter yes class 6 is currently the fastest memory available to consumers for SD cards. Currently as it stands if your card is faster then 66x(10mega bytes per second) its going to be faster then the camera can flush the onboard memory, unless your camera has write assist feature then it can flush the files even faster (this mainly pertains to DSLR class cameras)

I second Irfanview its a good basic program for editing.

I have the S & S 1G also, I'm improving with % of keeper photos. For some reason I'm shooting a lot of green water when others with same rig get blue water, still in the learning curve. I've seen great photos from the Canon G10!!

Could be your white balance is incorrectly set.
