Disclaimer: I am a PADI certified diver and I have absolutely no complaints. I believe that the LDS that I use is extremely thorough and competent. That said, I thought this was pretty funny.

You can have an all-expense diving trip. Just as long as it's at your expense. Pick some place you want to go pay for it and have a good time!

HA! That's hilarious! I was starting to believe that I was the only one who thinks that PADI is the diving equivalent of Scientology ... they'll give you all the knowledge you can pay for and not a bit more. I wanted to buy the instructor's manual (at the suggestion of my instructor) to help study for my DM, but the dive shop that the instructor teaches through refused to sell it to me because I am not an instructor candidate.
