I am confused on reading the carry on luggage "rules" for this flight!! Can someone tell us about the carry on requirements for this? Can you carry on a small bag PLUS a purse/back pack etc? Or is it just ONE item? Any help would be appreciated!

This is a tricky business. I just returned from Galapagos liveaboard. I was on the other big airline from Quito and I had to pay 12 dollars for too much weight, but on return same packing and no charge. A lot depends on agent and timing of your arrival. Pure chance. I carried regulator and mask in carry on plus small bag for a few books and paperwork, etc. Originally planned for pull carry on with reg inside, but then I had to take it out.

They have extremely limited luggage requirements BUT as Rodney said its the luck of the draw. We ALL were overweight on our trip but the computer system was down so we paid a resonable overage fee that I negotiated for the group which was much less than we would have paid if they could weight things. We did not have issues returning as I think they expect you to buy stuff on the island so don't hassle you as much.
You do need to limit it to one carry on and use a fanny pack as a purse. And if you carry on is heavy make it look like its light or you will be red flagged.

Seriosuly, it seems that it may depend on the day you fly. Going in, I didn't see anyone having to pay. Coming out, our live aboard (Peter Hughes) takes care of the bags and you NEVER have to pay with them. (they actually take your bags to the airport for you.)
But if an ugly guy like me can get it for free, I'm sure anyone with nice smile and low cut shirt can get it!
