Stan -
Nice post. Too bad a wacko DM like this couldn't have hit a little of the fire coral that is endemic to the area.... When I dove Aruba in 2003 the night dives on the Antilla and Padilla both were "octo-heaven" dives.
I know, let's remain cautious, charitable and Methodist here. But really! What a time for a need hydroid equalizer for the sealife!
Even the Red Sail DMs stayed away from actually playing with the octopus/octopii!

Did anyone from the group of divers have a talk with this guy at all after the dive??

Traumatic isn’t a word a lowly construction engineer gets to use often.
It’s a gruff analogy but the phrase “a touch like a rapist” springs to mind.
And as for then allowing your poorly skilled charges to drag their over weighted butts over the coral whilst YOU snap away with their cameras?!?
What a blatant disregard for sea life and the environment. Pick another career buddy! You’re no good at this one!

I usually greet home invaders with a .44 mag and/or 12 gauge shotgun. The DM should be glad the octopus didn't have the same option!!!
Bill
i agree completely. Hey WW, I think ScubaTex's signature is TEE SHIRT worthy. What do you say guys???

Is that "ditto" to the greeting or the t-shirt idea or both??

I would say yes to both...
BUT, maybe a more appropriate bit of retribution is found in a line from Robert Earl Keene:"...under the lump (sic octopus) is a 20-gauge pump..."!
