Oh and to answer your question mvillanueva, 'muck diving' is done in areas with sandy bottoms and generally less visibility (by this I mean 15-70'),

fs

15 to 70 FEET! Oh you poor guy, here I was envious of your job and you've never even been on a proper muck dive. Well let me officially invite you to Missouri where viz of 15 - 70 inches is not uncommon. Now that's quailty muck! :welcome:

Actually until recently (that I got into diving here in the Northwest), I used to get grumpy when the vis was anywhere 50' or less! now I know how much I should appreciate those days when you have crystal clear vis of 100+ !

:teeth: Welcome to the fun bunch.

Our primary purpose here to organize Singles Trips and Regional Dive Gatherings - which help support our other activities here on SD.com, like gettin' silly with each other, etc.. Hope I see you on one this year.

Yeah I know: I've been branded a non-group person - doesn't play well with others. I am so upset. Posted Image Let me know if you want to have some fun, without the drama - I'm good for that.

Thanks guys, this has got to be the warmest welcome I've ever had on a board! So, are there any of you single divers out there in the Seattle area? I'm getting my first dry suit in about a week and would love to go diving

I am new as well but not yet a permanent member. I wish that I had known about this site three weeks ago. I was just in Seattle two weeks ago. I was giving a presentation to a dive club there. It was beautiful! The house of the president for the dive club overlooked Lake Washington. I went to the Pike's Market and saw some sights but not many. I was there visiting dive shops and ran out of time . I can't wait until my next trip to Seattle it was great. Now that I think of it I wish that I had know about this site long before that. Do you do any trade shows for the scuba industry? I also work in the scuba industry and get to travel all throughout the U.S and I am going to Europe for a trade show and sales calls at the end of October. I also get to do my share of diving for work on our liveaboards. We have two in the Caribbean and one in Australia
(see my website). If you do make it to any of the tradeshows look me up. I am at all of them coast to coast and then some abroad as well.

Okay, so I am a little slow off the mark at viewing the new members of SD... :teeth:

Calvin, I just noticed that you too are in the PNW and a part time Vancouverite (I am assuming BC and not WA - am I correct?). I am here in Vancouver and am also supposed to be getting my drysuit soon. We will have to go diving! :teeth:

Welcome to the board!!
