Well, so far Jill & I are OK. Still waitng on word from Blue Angel (right in the path) & official word from Walter & Kevin & the rest up near Tampa & Orlando...

Reporting in from S.E. Fort Lauderdale, near 17th St. Causeway. My neighborhood boasts the largest tree canopy in the city, and after Hurricane Frances, can still make that claim, thank God. A couple of huge ficus trees knocked down, one took a concrete FPL pole, which we guess was the main reason for our two day power outage (restored last night at midnight).
It's hard to remember that this is one of natures redecorating efforts, when you're trying to clean out from under the mess. But, the trees are really going to take off with new growth after their wind pruning and who knows what we'll next see on the reefs!

Hey, Theresa! Wanna go out later this week & take a look, conditions permitting, of course? I saw one fool try to dive today...he didn't make it past the breakers before losing his flag & just getting washed back to shore- went in the water at my place, came out nearly at Datura....

Glad to hear so many of you survived in style. Spoke with my Mom in Sarasota and she said the winds kicked up and it rained a lot, but no big deal. I fly in tomorrow night (actually Wed AM) and was planning to hit the Upper Keys that weekend... depending on what Ivan does.

FRances isn't due into Brockville Ontario until Friday, and I'm leaving today. I think I will have a fly-by with her in Georgia today, but no biggie.

Well, lost power Saturday and went on generator. Trees down all over the neighborhood, but mine all stayed up. Power came back yesterday so everything turned out ok. I'm leaving shutters up until Hurricane Ivan is no longer a threat. I feel that I've already served my hurricane damage duty as I lost a house, a boat and an RV in Hurricane Andrew.
I was supposed to be diving this week in Grand Cayman. I am going to go in October instead.

You know what they say about trouble coming in threes. Ivan may hit Grand Cayman. It must not be in the cards for me to go there this year.

Suvived Frances this weekend after securing four family homes between Sheridan Beach, Palm Beach, Melbourne and Sabastian Inlet.
When all was secured, did manage to go to the beach until winds picked up. Watched two of my neighbors that are surfers until the wind blowed too hard for them. It was quite beautiful until picked up speeds of over 75 miles.
Finally got our electric last night. Quite a bit of debris on the roads still and traffic lights not all working but all should be somewhat normal soon. Hopefully, we'll get gas and groceries will stock again soon.
Still waiting to hear from family in West Palm and Melbourne area. With no power, phone, or cell phones working...it's waiting to hear from loved ones that's most on our minds.
Nice to hear Kevin, Jill, Wes, and others are doing well.
