I realize that taking better care of myself is too general and vague to be an effective New Year's Resolution. So I'm breaking my resolutions into specific tasks/projects. And flossing daily is one of them.

The benefits are many...healthier teeth and gums...just top the list. My favorite dentist and member of this site used to answer the question... "Do I really need to floss?" and his reply was... "only the teeth you wish to keep"

So does anyone else want to join me? Anyone already floss daily or almost daily? Anyone can't be bothered? Share and we'll help support each other.

I've flossed once per day since I got my braces off at age 31. I put too much money out-of-pocket and into my mouth to NOT floss!

I am happy to report that my gums are toughening up to the point where they don't bleed as much when I floss!

Well if cat fish is joining, I'd better join too! Actually, I have been slipping up on flossing here and there so I figure this will keep me more in check. Here's to better gums!

Nothing like verbalizing (or typing) your intentions & posting them on the 'net to guilt you into following through!

Remember you should be flossing a minium of once every 24 hour...that how long it take for the bactical film to re-grow on to your teeth. And you need to use a shoe shine motion on each side of the tooth not just popping the floss in and out. The bacteria is glueing itself to your tooth...so rub those little buggers off

I don't floss every day, but I do floss regularly. When I was younger, I made sure to floss daily about 2 weeks before the dentist, LOL! Does that count as a tip? There was just always this embarrassment about going to the dentist and your gums bleeding.

On a serious side, though, I have found that the Reach flosser made a huge difference for me. I know this will sound funny because I talk so much, but I have an incredibly small mouth (had 8 teeth removed for space). I no longer have to fight with the floss and my fingers, esp in the back. I keep one at home and at the office.

So make sure you tell us what your resolution is...floss daily...floss every 2 days...floss weekly etc. Or continue to floss daily, every two days, weekly etc for those who already have this great habit!
