Walter
I did not see it mentioned anywhere that one had to have been to a site. Only that it was considered famous or infamous. The sea of tranquility was joke. Or maybe it is a planned dive (note the extremly high dive #) If you need help recognizing humor just let us know. We would be happy to attempt to explain it to you. So back to the regular scheduled programing of-

Yamagiri Maru, Truk Lagoon -18" shells meant for the battleship Yamamoto

Jim

Which would put us on I

Itchy-Scratchy Maru (Nichiu Maru) Apra Harbor Guam beeneth the Shell Fuel pier.

and to bring us up to speed with EV780 ending in E

Yubae Maru Truk lagoon rediscovered in 2001? I belive.

Jim,

There is no rule that one had to have been to a site. I recognize humor. The Sea of Tranquility is extremely funny. OTOH, there is a rule that one must "Name a famous or infamous dive site using the last letter of the site that was named before it." The Sea of Tranquility isn't a dive site. So we are working on Orange Grove Sink or Oro Verde (both ending in E, so it doesn't matter which). Yubae Maru doesn't fit.

So..........

Elephant Ear, West Caicos; dive number 797.

I guess the Sea of Tranquility would now be Infamous.

I think famous.

According to Webster's:
Main Entry: in·fa·mous
Pronunciation: 'in-f&-m&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin infamis, from in- + fama fame
1 : having a reputation of the worst kind
2 : causing or bringing infamy : DISGRACEFUL
3 : convicted of an offense bringing infamy
- in·fa·mous·ly adverb

Main Entry: fa·mous
Pronunciation: 'fA-m&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French fameux, from Latin famosus, from fama fame
1 a : widely known b : honored for achievement
2 : EXCELLENT, FIRST-RATE <famous weather for a walk>
- fa·mous·ness noun

Either way, it's not a dive site, but still funny!

Road to Atlantis, Bimini, Bahamas; dive number 16.

Jim,

I know it's a dive site, although it is illegal to dive there now. The rules stated dive site, not legal dive site. With the right mix you can still dive it, you might get arrested, but you can dive it. It's crazy deep, but possible.

I didn't mean to confuse you, I thought I was clear. About what are you confused?

I dont think I am confused? I think you derail the intent of the thread and confuse people with your posts. But then maybe thats your way of being an individual?
