Just to let everyone know.
My juno account has been hacked.
My entire address book has been absconded with.
It is totally gone.
Someone, using an email address very similar to mine nas been sending out loan requests.
It is not me.
Very Bad thing is they know a very lot of personal info about me & Amy.
We would never go asking for loans by email!!!
Thanks 1& All for your understanding

Bob I am so sorry that you had this happen. I have had tons of these requests and I think EVERYONE knows they are fake/spam.

Hopefully nothing more serious occurs as a result! kamala

A major problem when people post unnecessary information about themselves, their friends, their activities, even their likes and dislikes, in places like Facebook. There are people who are paid vast sums to trawl through all this stuff and use software to make links, and then sell the info on.

There are two ways for them to get to the Juno account. Hack Juno or (and this is a lot easier) hack you.
Scan your entire PC for any malicious software with the free software available from malwarebytes.org or spybot.info (Or both). Or you can go to bitdefender.com for an online scan. If you cannot get to those web sites then something nasty IS on your PC. I have posted in depth threads on how to scan your PC. Search for spybot on SD.

Assuming something nasty is found change your passwords to your PC, any locked files or online forums (including SD). Also, if you do online banking change that password as well. If you have your credit card number in your My Documents, web cache or email then I strongly suggest you change that card too. If nothing nasty is found scour your email for passwords or credit card numbers. Change those. Also, change your email signature if any.
Remember, email is an inefficient communications forum. You may not read things the way it was intended. Give people the benefit of the doubt before firing back... Especially if it is ME...! ;)

Dustbowl + Pir8...

Did a scan of your PC show anything nefarious?
