Yeah I know: I've been branded a non-group person - doesn't play well with others. I am so upset. Let me know if you want to have some fun, without the drama - I'm good for that.

If you do that, remember that the same someone said something to YOU. I know that I could find a photo to submit as well. But, I prefer the one with the Aloha draft marks in the background. Or maybe the one on the Comet?Won't change your avatar eh?? Hmmmm.... sounds like to need to dig up a good picture and have it changed FOR you!!! hehehehehe!!! I just ordered the kit Bret suggested. Always looking for a way to spend money, anyway.

Don the gear...rigging...etc. is only worth the knowledge you have on how to use it. You can't learn to dive new gear or learn to dive it properly and effectively over the internet...nor can you truly learn to dive it properly via trial and error. I'm sure all the numerous folks who have been so gracious to post on this thread would agree that you should spend the few extra bucks it takes to take a class in the use of a pony/stage bottle. I'm also sure that every one of the excellent suggestions have come from divers who have already taken additional training via any number of agencies which is why they can make such great suggestions. And I hope they encourage not only you but EVERY OTHER diver who reads and gleans information from the internet to back up that information with 'one on one' specialized training!I just ordered the kit Bret suggested. Always looking for a way to spend money, anyway.
Promise you'll get some add'l training to go along with all the new gear and rigging kits etc.

Hey David.OK... so I got a pony bottle, now what, how do I rig it? Some say tank mount, some say slung under the arm. I have been giving several diffrent ideas. I would like to hear all.. Pros and Cons on why you rig your pony like you do and what you like and dislike about it... Thanks.. David
My personal preference for my "pony" is to sling it like a stage bottle. I have both a 13cf, and a 30cf, both are rigged identical.
I used to have a tiger mount that rigidly mounted it to the side of the tank, but I found that slinging it has a lot of advantages.
With the tank under the left arm, and clipped with bolt snaps to the left hip D ring, and left chest D ring, the first stage reg is right in front of your left chest area where the SPG is easy to see, and the reg is easy to check for leaks. I also like this method because if you have a buddy that runs into an out-of-air situation, it's easy to hand him the whole rig, and then get out of reach of that panicking buddy
Another thing I will mention is that what I do with my stage tank is to open the valve to charge the regs, and then shut the valve off again until I need it. That way, when I go to use it, if it's not still charged, I know I have a slow leak, and if there IS a leak, all that is lost is the air in the reg, not the whole tank.
just my .02$
