It's supposed to be to reflect whether a member is logged-in or not, unless the member opts for Anonymous log-in.

So often we see Sorta' here, sorta' not or DEMA Oct 12-16 when it's only the 10th.

On or off, please. :elf: Or maybe I should just log-in Anonymously and post from the blue?

Put your trips in your Sigs, maybe? :elf:

You are right Don the status light is to indicate who is online or not...however I use mine as do many to advise that we will be out of town and out of pocket slightly prior to an event so that people know to access us if they need us before we are gone.

There are a few folks who express some individuality by putting a cute statement such as 'sorta here sorta not' but they are also very few. 95% or more use the indicator as you prefer it.

And TF is right...you can see who is on when you log on as well as when you are in a thread. In my case...its easy....if I'm not traveling...I'm on the board! :elf: -ww

I like it as it is. Whenever I wonder, "Why isn't so-and-so responding to this?" I look at one of their past comments and discover they are diving without me. Darn them.

OH yeah - can you see me now? :teeth: Can you see me now? :lmao:

So, why do we have the light?

because during the early months, we complained to ZD that we couldn't tell who was online. then we asked ZD to manipulate the board so that we could inform others of when we were going to be off-line for extended periods of time. posting information in our signature line effects the loading speed, so ZD came up with something brilliant. i like it.

I do go through the list a couple times a week and clean those up.

Shouldn't have to. We have better uses of your time and talents, I'm sure. :teeth:

I do too when it's used correctly. Being able to tell us you're at DEMA Oct 12 - 16, is great. OTOH, when someone gets cute and types in "stoned" or "single" or something else that's not helpful, I have to agree with Don. That's why I go in from time to time and clean 'em up.
