Hey anyone know how long it takes to clear customs in Charlotte? I keep finding flights with only an hour or 65 mins turn around coming back from Mexico so need to know if that is enough time to clear customs (I'm GOES) and TSA as well as rechech bags of course. I've never attempted custom's clearance in CLT.

I've gone through Charlotte when going to/from PLS, but I did not have any difficulty making my tight connection, AT A RUN! And, I do not have a GOES card....

I have gone through customs there a few times and have not had any problems. I don't remeber ever having a particularly short connection, I have been when 3 jets landed at the same time. The captain mentioned it when we landed. They always seem to have a lot of agents working and have a rep at the front directing passengers to the shortest available line.

Thanks gang...but is 65 mins long enough? I will be able to go to the head of the line for custom clearance or use a machine...its just clearing TSA and getting across this spread out airport in 1hr.

Sorry Kamala, I have never cleared customs there, so I can't offer any feedback. Wear running shoes though if you do it!

I will be going through customs in Charlotte in the future. I am going through on July 7th, I can give you a report then. Will that be too late?

I've been through there four times and I found it quick, efficient and pleasant. Immigration/inward Customs took around 20 minutes if I remember correctly. Even so, 55 minutes for that and checking in again is very tight.

Yeah....I'll be there in April. I'm prepared if I miss the flight but since its a small plane and the last leg and I do have fairly frequent flyer status...I'm hoping they hold it for me for a few minutes. If not there are worse places to be stuck.

I have the GOES card so customs is QUICK!!! The TSA is the logjam. Hopefully since I was booking the flight on USAir's direct site they would not let me book without enough time to clear customs.
