That should be really great. I suspect that the Brits will put on quite a good show.
I am noodling on going. I have access to hotel/tickets and would love to go to an Olympic games outside of the States. Atlanta was...well...just Atlanta.
I was in Bejing just before the summer games there. It was pretty astounding to see the preparations and architecture of some of the newly constructed venues. Though the part where they moved 500,000 Chinese out of their homes to build some of them, and the part where locals cars were grounded from driving to improve the air quality kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I certainly wasn't complaining about the improvement in umm female friendly "infrastructure" that was part of welcoming the Western world there.
