Experience is the best reference...I have never bought equipment insurance because if you put the policy amt into a savings account each year if you lose something you can basically pay for it from the policy savings.
I am glad that the other company gave you your premium back and I spoke to Divers Alert Network about haing better disclosure of what is covered and what is not. They said they would send that feedback to the carrier. Dan Orr also said to tell you that you are not blackballed! LOL!
I too would like to know what you find out from Depp... and if I can slow down a bit I'll try to get more info on my own. It is certainly something we need to be able to answer to members.
Thank you Greg... keep us posted on what you find out. kamala
Thanks, Kamala, for getting back.I know your schedule is?!@#& right now.Good to know Dan Orr remembered me & I'm not on a black list.Depp is my next Door to knock on.Brian who I spoke to at Dive Assure told me they refer to DEPP.I just don't know at this point if I have to be a member to join DEPP? From the stories or incidents I'm reading about DEPP.It seems to be a reliable co.
I have a list of 7 questions now to ask, before any signatures are made.
I did inquire with my homeowners policy .As some have mentioned in the past.Yes,it is more than reasonable to use this method. However they do depreciate equipment & I just don't feel right about a homeowners Ins. dealing with Scuba divers Equipment..As for taking the risk & not having it or trying to SAVE $$ in today's times. Thats a tall order. There has to be a reasonable Ins. co.If you get my drift.
And yes we need to talk...
