I need some opinion on the below topic.
I am bifocal, and I am wearing bifocal glasses daily.
My current dive mask only corrects my near-sightedness, so looking at close/little creatures is difficult. I am always confused when dive master is pointing at something when I see nothing.

It is crucial to be able to see little creature on this trip. I had tried those glue on optix reader, and the result was not satisfactory. I actually lost one piece on my last trip.

After checking online discussions, I am going to go with one of the below two choices:
1. Sea Vision's prescription bifocal lesn/mask;
2. prescriptiondivemasks dot com bifocal insert.

My question is: has anyone tried either one of these IN BIFOCAL? And which one is better in your opinion?
(The bifocal part is very important).

I need to make a decision in the next week or two, to get my lens/mark made in time for Lembeh.

John seavision has been in the eyeglass business far longer then in the dive business. I've USED to wear corrected lenses and they did a great job for me...also very quick I might add. The other company is newer to the market and I do not know as much about them. If you do not have a SeaVision dealer near you one of our partners is one.

You can used ANY mask you own as long as it has 2 separate lenses in it. Hopefully others will chime in for you. Kamala

Thank you Kamala for the input, and moving it to its own thread. :thankyou:
I should have done it myself :)

Anyone else? Especially people who wear bifocal. Being able to see far and near, large and small, is the #1 concern for me.

John, I have the same problem. I'm so near-sighted, that after that near-sightedness is corrected, I can't see anything up close. Since I wear contact lenses, I've tried a number of solutions with varying success. Bifocal contacts just don't work for me. For now I wear one contact for distance and one for "reading". But still when the DM points out a tiny critter, I can't see it most of the time. I'm at the point of just wearing one lens for distance, but that makes my vision pretty blurry. I've never tried a corrective mask before, and I'm sure I haven't helped you much here, but just so you know you aren't alone :cool2:/>

Thanks Ellen for your support :)

I have narrowed down to two options, both received rav reviews:
First is Sea Vision, who make masks. In fact, any other brand does not seal well for me. Sea Vision Ultra is the only mask I use. (I have several pairs saved).

Second is prescriptiondivemasks.com, they make prescrition lens to your mask.
So I send in my mask that I like, they make the lens to your prescription. (They have masks too). They can make insert to your mask too.

For the Lembeh trip, you have to get prescription lens, else you will be disappointed for not able to see what others are seeing (those little creatures). Several people already told me that. Both options cost about 180-250 bucks, but it's worth it.
