It is with a very sad heart that I let you all know that my mother-in-law aka OTWDiver's mom died in the wee hours on Monday morning. She had been battling MS and lost that battle after a valiant fight. Bill did the things that no son should have to do for a parent in order to allow her add'l quality of life. After she was confined to a wheelchair he would take her places carrying her and the wheelchair. He even took her on a SD.com trip to the Sea of Cortez and Socorro so she could sit and watch the ocean she loved so much. I got to know her and she got to see her son and I doing what we loved most...diving.

Please keep Bill and our family in your prayers as we deal with this loss and try to reshape our worlds without a loved one in it.

A few have asked about memorials etc and how to send condolences. Bill is taking them via the site and if you wanted to do something more please consider making a donation in the name of Martha Hines Routh to the National MS Society.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and well wishes... they are greatly appreciated. Kamala

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am thankful that you and Bill had an opportunity to take her on the dive trip, as well as the assistance in giving her a better quality of life. Too many people get so caught up in their lives that they never realize how valuable time with a loved one is. Bill will always have the memories of those times with his mom, and nothing can replace that. You will both be in my prayers and thoughts. Ed

Praying for Bill and family in this time of loss. My thoughts are with you

Each wreck has a tale to tell about its life and its demise.

If you are observant while diving in dark places listen to the account each has to tell, You cannot come away unaffected.

Kamala,

My grandmother died from MS after a very long battle as well. I know from personal experience that it can devastate lives. My thoughts are with you and Bill and other family members as you learn to cope with the loss.

Kamala and Bill, I am so sorry for your loss. :(/>/> I remember her on the Sea of Cortez trip and what a fabulous time she had. The crew on the ship were wonderful with her and she added lots to our trip, she was a great conversationist. I am also thinking of the first day when the manta rays entertained us for about 3 hours and she sat on the deck and watched, excitedly like the rest of us in the water. I know she fought a valient battle and is now at peace. Bill, I know you will miss her dearly know that you gave her life many quality adventures. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. :angel2:/>
