I have spent a number of years diving, and not paying any attention to a log book. Some dives might get logged, some not. Since I joined Single Divers, I have been logging my dives, although not always as they happen. The question about the number of dives made, in the profile section, started me in keeping the log book again. Presently, I have 464 dives logged. My expectation is to do two days of diving while in Belize in December. That should be six dives, giving me 470. I missed the San Francisco Maru dive when in Truk a few years ago, but in looking at my log book, that would have been my 21st dive of the trip. I have been wondering how much effort I should put in to come up with nine more dives between now and February, to try and line the SF up for logged dive number 500. Of course, if it didnt work out that way, it would land on a Palau dive. Decisions decisions.......

I did 22 dives in Truk. You could do a couple of night dives, or do two shorter dives instead of a longer one. Lots of options. Glad I'm going to be there to watch it unfold no matter how it turns out

Ed, It's funny you should mention this. I've been debating a similar issue myself. Although mine wouldn't be quite as cool as being able to hit a milestone on the SF Maru. Let me know if you need a dive buddy for that one. I'm more than willing to help you hit the 500th!

I'm currently at 91 dives and have been debating whether to delay my 100th until Truk or end up hitting it before getting there. I'd like to do some more diving this winter to stay at least a little fresh before the vacation but my likely only option is Bonne Terre Mine.

Looking at how many dives we might be able to get in while in Truk and then Palau I'll be approaching 150 by the end of the trip I hope. I know in Palau we won't be able to do as many as I originally hoped when I planned the trip but I hope we get in at least 3 a day and then a few days maybe with 4. The resort mentions unlimited shore diving but I know others had mentioned that it's really not possible. Anyone know if the 150th dive is considered a milestone?

After getting this many I need to consider getting my rescue diver, sidemount cert and potentially then MSD.

I did 4 dives a day in truk. I skipped either dive 2,3, or 4, and then did the night dive each day. I missed out on the last day of diving, which was either one or two dives. I think your first truk dive as number 100 would be nice.

Completely agree Ed. I'm going to see if I can make it work. I know I'm going to want to get a good photo on that dive.

Not sure exactly how many dive days we'll get in Truk but I know I'm planning on diving every dive, everyday if I'm physically and mentally able to do so (as well as following my dive computer). Hopefully 5 dives a day and get in at least 25-30 dives over 5-6 days.

Every dive is a milestone!!

Bad I know but I am on cold medicine. Hey Wenchie, I self nominate this for consideration of our shirt for this trip.

We'll have to see if I would be able to get in 50 dives in 2 weeks. I think it's possible but definitely stretching the limits of things. I'm going to stay positive and see what happens. Wouldn't that be something to get the 100th dive and 150th dive on the same trip! Posted Image

Mike: #150 is a milestone.

Thanks Kamala! We'll see what happens. It will likely either be the #100 on the trip or #150.

Don't worry Dad. I won't be pushing for a number just to get it. If it happens, great. If not I'll likely hit #150 sometime later next year. My focus is going to be on quality dives as well as training next year after the trip. I've got a number of things on my list that I want to get checked off.
