Kim Ed's description is valid. You CAN go with a shortie and wear knee pads but my best recommendation is to use a full suit...even if 1mm and use knee pads to protect the knees from blowing out and you'll have protection against scrapes and you won't overheat.

KNEE PADS:

Everyone should have knee pads...work to get the cheapest pair you can that will STAY on your knees...so soccer or volleyball pads are better than home depot pads for floors. HOWEVER ANY knee pad is better than no knee pads.

Thanks for all the great info., Ed and Wench.Crawling down a river..what have I signed up for,lol. I ordered a 1mm wetsuit, a cheapy and some knee pads for cave divers. They seem to protect the shin too. The only older wetsuit I have is a farmer john type but I don't think it covers my knees., just above. I'll still bring it and my gloves. I have some old gardening gloves that are ready for the trash too if I need them. Great thing about driving down I can bring a variety of things. I may bring a couple bottles of wine from that winery in Kentucky while I'm at it.
I resent 13 pages of paperwork yesterday for this trip and Galapogus . Please let me know if you received before Wednesday as I'm leaving town again that night and don't have a fax in the country house.

Ok, that means I'd have a $255 credit which can be applied to my $100 for canister lights and $15 brass pick $15 goody bag. I'm sure we will figure out what to do with the other $125 tips and such. I was just signing on to figure out what I still owed so this works out great.
