As we all have spent time, money, and soon effort gathering up our gear and getting to our destinations to make the journey I have an "Dave Letterman" list for ya'll:

Top ten reasons I am a scuba diver      :blush2:

10. The divemasters are all hotties

9.  It’s such a relief to find that small anchor line when my air is running low.

8. I was going to try skydiving, but thought diving would be way safer

7. I love the smell of neoprene in the morning

6. Maybe I was reincarnated from a big fish

5.  Its the time I don’t get a “ honey do “ speach from my significant other

4.  I feel so much better after tossing my cookies and lying flat out on a choppy dive boat

3. The devil made me do it

2.  My organizational skills have improved since I can actually find all my dive gear for this trip.

1.  I always look so sexy in all black.

Hi! It is my understanding that to be diving Bonaire all of us need a STINAPA pass? I.e. pay the natural reserve fee? How does that work, where do we get that?

We are planning some additional exploring of the island, namely the Mangroves and the National Park, and I have been told by our operator that we need to bring the pass to these activities. I am guessing we will get it through the diving anyway, so I'd like to check.

Yes everyone will get a STINAPA pass when they do their dive orientation. It is $25 extra to be paid in cash so not included in the trip price. And yes it will allow you to enter other parks and areas on the island including where the flamingos are.

URGENT:

Dive Insurance is MANDATORY on all our trips. For $130 a year you can have a top notch policy that will cover anything including air evacuations off the island. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE INSURANCE SUMMARY SHEET COMPLETELY. If you think your medical insurance covers scubadiving and airvac's off the island then please get a letter from your carrier stipulating that they cover these things. Otherwise we need you to get dive insurance.

Please forgive me for being BLUNT but..... almost all of you are traveling by yourself, so if something happens to you I am the one to get you to the hospital, to call the insurance companies on your behalf and to potentially make life altering decisions on your behalf. My credit card is not big enough to pay for DCS treatments or air evacs etc. if you need them. I will not watch you suffer knowing it could have been avoided. PLEASE GET DIVE INSURANCE NOW OR I WILL NEED TO REFUND YOUR MONEY FOR THE TRIP. :(

We STRONGLY recommmend www.DiveAssure.com and please reference us in the HOW YOU HEARD ABOUT US ...we are under Global Partners. If you do not see us in the drop down then do not reference anyone and send me a copy of your policy confirmation email and I will get it fixed via corporate. THIS GIVES ME MUCH GREATER ACCESS ON YOUR BEHALF TO MAKE EMERGENCY PLANS FOR YOU SHOULD YOU NEED THEM WHILE ON OUR TRIP OR TRAVELING.

If not DiveAssure then DAN. Also reference us with them as well for the same reason.... thank you!

If you have either policy we need your policy number...not just the name of the company. :thankyou:

THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR DIVE INSURANCE INFO OR COMPLETE IT ASAP:

1. Gayle aka WindyMike

2. Jerry aka Tunne36

3. Katherina aka Diver 123

4. Mary aka MaryBrisk - NEED POLICY NUMBER FOR YOUR DAN policy

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFO:

Mary aka MaryAlida we need the name of your emergecny contact. We can read the number but not the name.

DOCUMENTS:

Katherina aka Diver123 we need your docs. asap

Pretty sure snorkelers are also supposed to get a Stinapa Pass but for them it's $10 instead of $25.

FYI-

Hey gang, wasn't sure exactly WHERE to post this info, but for those of you who have not been to Bonaire before, it is a designated national marine park, there is a $ 25.00 fee nature fee that must be paid, good for one year. No gloves or spears permitted....and I also noted from the past, that a buoyancy test on the first day must be done.

   :thankyou:
