I'm going to be in St. Martin from May 24th until May 28th. One day excursion I've thought about is either St. Barts or Anguilla. I welcome some insights. I'm so EXCITED about this trip. Thanks

I realize it's pretty late to let you know this but I have not received any PMs. What happened?
10 days to the first trip.
- Web down for over a week ... between downtime and clean up
- Loss of wifi in SC...limping along on my phone
- Still trying to recover from our 5 week sojourn to the South Seas...
Updates starting today after I get to an internet cafe nearly an hour away.... Please forgive the delay...

Sometimes this happens
Then Kamala does this and its Brad's problem. If Brad does this then its my problem.
Then, if we are lucky, this happens.
Last week was one of those weeks.

Hello fellow Dominica dive buddies. I was curious about the electrical service at Castle Comfort so I dropped them a line and am happy to report that it is 110v/220v just like the good ole' USA.... Just thought I would share with the group. No need to bring any adapters!

Castle Comfort has 110 electrical outlets in the room, but most rooms only have one 110 outlet (with 2 sockets) and one 220 outlet (one socket). If you and your roomie have more than one item each to plug-in, it's best to bring a 110 power strip so you both can have multiple things charging at once. If you don't want to take the power strip home, it makes a nice gift to any of the staff.
Most rooms that I have stayed in (this is my 5th trip) have a second 110 outlet in the bathroom, but some rooms do not have any outlets in the bathroom. Bring an extension cord (or two) if you need to use a hairdryer with the mirror or like to have your phone charging on the night stand.. Again, these extension cords make good gifts for the staff.
Other hints --- bring quite a few small bills (paper US money) in good condition; this literally means bills that have no tears, no rips & that are fairly clean. This is a repeat of the excellent advice from Kamala in the PM section.
Most stores on the island will accept US money, but they will give you local Eastern Caribbean currency as change. The smaller the US bills you give them to pay for something, the less local change you receive in return. Remember that any local currency can be given as a tip when your depart.
If you use sun block, please consider using only biodegradable sun block if you use the cream before diving.
Each person is different, but I have been very pleased to have & use my bottle of bug spray (non-aerosol) the few evenings that I am dry. The best way to avoid the bugs in the evenings is to GO DIVING.
