Hey gang...since we are a private group we get to choose our own dive sites. HERE is a list of the sites available to us. Keep in mind that no matter how long your trip...you will want to do Blue Corner (sharks) and German Channel (Mantas) at least twice!!!

I promise to get in ALL the good sites but need help on those who desire to do say the Helmet WWII Wreck or Jake Seaplane, in addition to other iconic wrecks.

That being said....

  • The Helmet Wreck is perfect for a 3rd dive as it is shallow and close to the dive dock.
  • The Jake Seaplane is perfect for a night dive as it is also close by and shallow.

On the first Palau trip we took, we dove turtle wall.  Everyone on the boat saw anywhere from 3 to 11 turtles on the dive.  It was a great dive.  The Blue Holes are a different type of dive.  It is only accessed at high tide, as you swim over the reef, to the entrance of the hole.  It drops down to about a hundred feet, and is a spacious cavern, with rays of light streaming in.  Very pretty, although there is not much inside the cavern.  Then you swim out a hold onto the wall, and continue the dive.  Both are good suggestions.  As Kamala mentioned, the Blue Corner and German Channel are must dives.  Ed

Something to keep in mind when diving the German Channel........  If the mantas are around, the guides will set you up near a cleaning station.  Hopefully, you will get there first, and they set you up on the down current side of the coral head.  As the mantas will swim into the current to approach the cleaning station, they will be coming up from behind you if you are on the down current side.  LOOK BEHIND YOU A LOT.  The view is a lot better from that side, and the mantas will be VERY CLOSE.

Great advice Ed!  I'd have to second the Blue holes dive.  That is a great dive.

Each wreck has a tale to tell about its life and its demise.

If you are observant while diving in dark places listen to the account each has to tell, You cannot come away unaffected.
