As divers we spend lots of time on the waterways of the world or hanging around ports and docks. Over the years, I have seen some really interesting names given to vessels. I thought it would be fun to hear what names made an impression in people's minds for either beauty, humor or meaning. Or, find out what members would christen a boat if they were going to buy one.

I'm torn between funny names like Shore-gasm, Exta-Sea, Sin of Commission and Far Whorizon or beautiful names like Kellilaya and Ladania.

What do all of you like?

At one time I thought I'd own a fleet of row boats and so I had planned to call them Wreck Wench I and Wreck Wench II etc. They'd be known as WWI and WWII...figured it confuse all the locals! :cool1:

Actually my favorite name for a boat is simply 'Diver Down'. It says it all to me! :wakawaka:

A friend in Miami has a boat called Aftica -- another f***ing thing I can't afford.

I thought that was pretty funny.

Buddy's Dive Shop (no longer in business) had a boat called the Free and Clear.

Some buddies and I were on a boat once and the captain had such a hard time finding ledges, we toild him we were going to rename it the Surface Interval.

Yea, I like dirty boat names also! :birthday:

Knew a lady in San Antonio who named her boat Alimony. Said her ex wasn't too fond of her renaming his old boat.

In Key Largo I liked one named the Starfish Enterprise. Of course it would have been better if Patrick Stewart had been at the helm! :thankyou:

Linda, it is in Boynton. There are also organizations with that name in the UK and in Seattle.
