In case your local government skool forgets to mention it, it was on this day back in 1941 that Japan launched its sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, ushering the United States into World War II (that’s a “two,” not an “eleven,” class). The two-hour attack resulted in the sinking of 21 American ships, including the USS Arizona, which alone lost 1,177 crewmen when the ship went down. All told, 2,403 Americans were killed that morning, including 68 civilians.

May they rest in peace. May we never forget their sacrifice.

Excellent post. Thanks for reminding us of those that have and do today serve in our armed forces to protect our freedoms.

To those individuals on sd.com that are currently serving in the military, I'd like to say thank you and happy holidays. May you and yours be safe this holiday season.
