BLUE HERON BRIDGE UPDATE:

One of the famous dives in So Florida is the Blue Heron Bridge which is a free dive (other than tanks) but is tidal meaning you have to plan to be at the park 2 hrs before the high tide so that your entire dive has good vis.

You want to avoid the weekends as the place is SWAMPED with divers and non-divers swimming etc. And you want a dive/photo/critter guide as its a very big bridge and the guides know where the good stuff is.

That being said we have one guide that will work for tips aka about $15 per person vs the approx $50 pp or more rate the dive shops charge for a guide but we need to figure out who really wants to do this dive in addition to the 2 am boat dives earlier that day.

The best day for the tides AND our dive charters is Tuesday after diving with Starfish Charters. The high tide is 3:00 so getting there 2 hrs before means 1:00 and this still gives us enough time to get back from our am charters and have lunch, rinse and repeat but this time diving on the bridge.

So who is in? We need you to reply in this topic if you want to dive the Blue Heron Bridge. The price is a tank rental and the tip for the guide for showing you the great critters that exist on this awesome dive.

PLEASE reply in this topic with your yes or no if you want to do this dive. Thank you!

TIME CORRECTION:

The top post originally stated high tide the afternoon of 29 August to be 3:50pm - in fact high tide is 3:00pm so getting there 2 hrs before means 1:00pm. This should still allow time for a quick bite of lunch, but probably precludes gear or diver freshwater "rinse and repeat". Just think of it as a much easier third boat dive (with lots of sand)...  :teeth:
