We are searching for several charities that SD can support. Perhaps the "Save the Manatees" should be one of them? Any thoughts?

There was a time when manatee numbers were in a serious decline. They needed everything we could do for them. This is no longer the case. Manatee populations are now increasing, they are making an excellent comeback. I don't believe they need our help.

OTOH, coral reefs worldwide are in serious trouble. Chemicals are destroying the reefs. If we're looking for charities, this is a much more critical area which needs our help.

I agree with Walter about looking into helping with Coral Reef preservation. I don't have any idea about what organization would be best, but it is a great cause to work on.

Because I answered her question?

Nope, you're just an old fuddy duddy.

Now I never said they were cute, nor did I agree or dissagree with the comments. I just thought I would let people think what they want and leave my opinions to myself.

Ooops, I guess I just opened my mouth and said what I think anyway. :clapping:

In that case, thank you. Would you like the accident to take place just before or just after the stroke of midnight?

so how cold was it? 80, 85?

ahh a freezing cold Christmas eve (back in the UK)....3pm and just about to head to a nice warm pub !

in answer to the temp question - I went up for the 6:30am trip - it was just when a cold front hit Florida (yes, we do get them) - so it was a tad chilly - but the water was a nice 70 something degrees - ok for a 3mm (if you don't feel the cold toooo much) but I was getting a little cold by the end of an hour or so - the air temp was much colder than that though. (but those are ideal manatee conditions) - but some hot choc on the boat and a visit to a pub for breakfast afterwards (a bit of a trend there ?) and it was a coool day out

if there's a trip planned in feb, i'll come up for it - itz worth getting up early and being the first on the river - then you get the tees all to yourselves

anywho..happy christmas for anyone reading this post (and humbug for those not!)
