Good morning,
I am interested in this trip but have a couple of questions. What dive equipment is included in this package? I would assume rental equipment would be available for anything not included? And if so is there an option to pay for that in advance??

Thanks, John

Hi John great question. The pkg price includes air tanks, lead and weight belts if you need them. You need tp supply or rent your personal gear i.e. mask, fins, snorkel (if you use one) and safety equipment i..e bcd, regulator, computer, and optional items such as a wetsuit or dive light* if you plan to do a night dive or just want to video, take pictures, look into nooks and crannies or simple see the TRUE COLOR of the REEF washed in its true brilliant colors!

But you are in luck... our uber cool Corporate Sponsor Big Blue Dive Lights is supplying a variety of dive lights and video lights you can USE FOR FREE to see how amazing they are. AND if you buy a Big Blue light BEFORE the trip you qualify for a FREE NIGHT DIVE!!!

Most people wait to pay for rental gear at the resort for several reasons.... sometimes we get multiple corporate sponsors who will allow you to TRY BEFORE YOU BUY and so you get the use of something like a light or computer FOR FREE!!!   And sometimes other members on the trip are happy to loan extras which save ou money so we typically do not collect rental fees in advance ALTHOUGH WE DO SUPPLY THE RESORT WITH ALL OUR RENTAL NEEDS SO THEY ARE MORE THAN READY but allow them to charge you only what you end up renting during the week.

If they offer a 'rental pkg'[ the price is valid at the resort as well as before so its not necessary to pay in advance to save money.

Does that cover your questions?

I am a newbie, this will be my first trip after OW cert. The last thing I want to do is spoil anyone’s diving vacation experience, but I know I will need a buddy that is experienced and willing to stick around as I gain confidence. Do you recommend I hire a DM for the first dives?

Barbara do we have an answer for you! *smiles* One of the unique perks of our club is the Rent A Buddy program where for a small fee you are matched with a DM or DI level member (typically The Wench herself) either day by day or for the entire week. The double benefit to this program is a) you enjoy greater confidence so you relax and enojy each dive more plus b) you get a quick post dive summary from the DM/DI with tips on what you may need to work on, reinforce things you are already doing right, and general encouragement for further progress.

Here is a quote from just one of our many members who have enjoyed and benefited from the Rent A Buddy (RAB) Program. There are Add On items for RAB By the Day or the Entire Week - just log on the Home Page, click the Sign Up button for Roatan Week One and scroll down to the Add On area to select and book your choice! :diver:

Just finished my first trip with Singledivers.com. As a new diver, I was a bit hesitant about going on a trip with folks I didn't know, but the entire experience could not have been better. The folks were all friendly and easy to get along with, the location was awesome, the divining incredible, the food exceptional, and the attention to every detail by Kamala was unsurpassed. Did the Rent a Buddy program and it was the best part of the trip - helped improved my skills and comfort level incredibly. Would highly recommend it for any new diver. I'm glad I discovered thus group and can't wait to do another trip soon,

Thanks Jim.... for all the updates. This is the perfect place to post.

1. DAN is secondary ins so only pays AFTER all other ins pays and you pay first and they refund what they end up covering. DiveAssure is primary ins so pays for everything which is why apparently they have limited the age. :(  Another member just told me the same thing. They hope to extend the age window but for now it is what it is.

2. We have you in a single room for now unless someone else signs up... its been a busy couple of weeks with lots of people joining us at the last minute! We still have room for anyone else! ;)
