Question, are the cf100 tanks steel?

They have a limited number of both alum and steel.

For us I mean me & Amy, I can't speak for Carey. I figured we could apply it elsewhere. That's why I really didn't get upset about it. I would imagine the same for Carey though.

Ok. I see all 3 of you DID sign up for the guided shore dive AND are doing the unlimited shore diving so I owe you all a refund which I can give back or add to your tips. Thanks!

Ok that is what we needed to know. There is an upcharge for the 100's...same price for alum or steel.

Yeah, I don't really need the extra air but I do like the buoyancy characteristics of steel. With steel tanks I don't need to carry any extra lead. I know about the upcharge.

Chris I will add this note under the Rental Gear section. I have heard lots of great reviews from other members and I hope you experience similar results! :diver:

Do we need to bring bug spray?

Hello Christine, a fair question. As a veteran of several SingleDivers.com Cozumel trips over the years, always with Casa del Mar resort, I can say:

 - I have never had a problem with mozzies, flies or other insects at the Dive Shop on the sea side of the highway nor on the boat dock adjacent to the shop, probably because they are built out on jetties farther out from the beach area.
 - The same is true around the resort pool area on the island side of the highway. (The resort and shop are connected by a walkway that crosses over the two lane coast road).
 - Where you may encounter bugs is if you dally along the beautiful palm tree lined stone pathways which connect wings of the resort plus the dining hall / pool areas. The flora along the paths is pretty but does provide an environment for mozzies and biting flies to await ambush if you happen to stop for very long admiring the flowers. Also if you walk to town (about 2 miles along the coast road) the wild jungle grows right up to the island side of the road; I found walking along the ocean side of the road is far less buggy (but not bug free). Even in town there are lots of open air eateries which can attract undesirable dinner partners; many distribute citronella candles but they seem to have limited effect depending on wind direction and strength...

With all that said you are free to pack most any sort of insect repellent - personally I would avoid compressed gas canisters in favor of pump spray devices.

Just my 2psi :diver:

I am all signed up and paid...can't wait! I would like to do the para sailing too :)

There was also a turtle experience listed. What are the details for that? I may be interested in that as well.

AWESOME!!!  The para sailing thingy should be really fun but we gotta get it set up early as OUR company fills FAST!!!  So in the fall the turtles eggs hatch. Hopefully it will be the right time for them and we can go and see them. As we get a little closer we will know where the eggs are in the hatching cycle. These ops fill up REALLY fast so a couple of weeks ahead remind me and I'll verify the status of egg hatchings and we can see if they will be ready to hatch when we are there! :wakawaka:

Hi Kamala, just a reminder to check in on the status of the turtle eggs and if its possible that they may be ready to hatch when we are there 🤞🏻
