Hi Folks! I'm Hillary from Cambridge, MA. I've been diving since 1997 or so, although I took about a decade off in the middle there. Given the COLD water up here, I pretty much always diving on vacation.  In the last few years I've done dive trips/liveaboards to Thailand, Raja Ampat & Nusa Penida, Philippines, Belize, Roatan, Cozumel and a few others. Unfortunately, COVID has meant over a year since I was last diving-- too long! I'm interested in the Thanksgiving week trip to Dominica-- hoping the details are posted soon.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo glad you found us. I will be cleaning up the Thanksgiving trips in the next 5-7 days so it will be bookable by then. Hoping the final pricing stays the same so I will know that as well. Dominica is FAB diving for our side of the world!  Can't wait to meet you and I your screen name!   Kamala

Hello Hillary an (again) welcome abaord. I see The Wench has provided a lowdown on updating our upcoming amazeballs dive destinations. We look forward to having you join her (as in the email, Kamala attends every club trip as Group Leader / Cruise Director / scuba cheerleader   sorry not sorry Boss) and our fun Skuba Krewe!

Hello Hillary, and welcome to the group.  It sounds like you have been on some amazing trips.  I am also waiting for the Dominica trip to open up.  I have never been there, but have heard wonderful things about it.  Ed

  HIllary and    to the wonderful world of Singledivers.com!!!   You have been to some fabulous destinations, some still on my bucket list!!  Dominica is an awesome place to dive!!!  I am sure Kamala will have the details up soon.  You will love going there.

Welcome Diver! You have been to some amazing dive destinations! Where was your favorite place ?!

Hi Ducky and everyone! Having been on 90% of those trips alone, I'm looking forward to traveling with a group!

 

It's so hard to pick a favorite-- it's like picking the best puppy, they are all so good!  Raja has to be on the list... if there were only one place I could dive for the rest of my life (and it were easier to get to, and a bit cheaper...) it would be Raja. I really enjoyed all of Indonesia, however, and am looking at doing the Derawan Archipelago next year or the year after. 

 

Coron Bay had amazing shipwrecks, and learning to penetrate a wreck is amazing for buoyancy and fin control. 

 

I got to be in the middle of a baitball for a long time, just another one of the school, at Sipadan. That was a truly amazing experience. Also, I love frogfish.

 

The Caribbean really also has world-class diving at lot easier and cheaper for Americans. The dives out near the Blue Hole (but not the Blue Hole itself) at Lighthouse Reef in Belize were also top 5. I also loved the formations at Cozumel. Did stings of pearls at Roatan, that was super special.

Wow! I imagine you would have difficulty choosing a favorite with experiences like that. 

What is on the top of your list for new destinations?

I'm with you on Raja... but as you say... so many OTHER wonderful places too!

 

A very wise person told me that you should NEVER compare a venue to another...but rather enjoy it for what it offers. I try to do that every trip I make but of course a few comparisons do sneak in... but alas they are like comparing sharks to dolphins to mantas...ALL exceptional but all unique as well!
