Cool idea on the thread... ok, I'll take a shot at this..

My work consists of Wireless accts management, generally I do savings analysis reports for several companies on their Cell phone/pager billings, I also do a lot of wireless and telecom billing.. not much of a stressful job, it's actually pretty funny most days because I work within a silly IT group..

When I'm not pillaging and ravaging, I'm usually ravaging and pillaging.

But when I'm not doing that, I help run a biotechnology company involved in the petroleum and environmental industies. And just to make sure I have even less time to dive, I'm an adjunct professor at the local university where I teach various fun things related to microbiology.
There are old divers and there are bold divers, but there ain't no old, bold divers.

I happen to be what is called a "chemical operator" for a plant that makes medical tubing and used to make make certain implants that males around here seem to be impressed by.

What that means... I am a blue collar type factory worker for a major chemical company that specializes in silcon and silicone products. I also have some collateral duties involved with that, like helping to teach basic IT.

My training was in a more interesting field. I ran nuclear reactors and did instrumentation work while in the US Navy on fast attack submarines.

So you are the one. Thank you.

Hey, cool idea - it's interesting to know what people do to pay the diving bills.

I am a Merger, Acquisition and Divestiture specialist for an oil company. My background is in Human Resource Management, so I primarily focus on managing the human resource aspect of the deal. So, at a very high level, if we're buying a piece of your business, I'm negotiating details around pay, benefits, and legal matter related to HR. If we're selling a piece of our business, I'm figuring out whether employees are getting a severance package or a job at the purchasing company, and trying to negotiate the best position for them with their new parent. Okay, and there's a lot of other boring analytical and competitor positioning stuff going on too.

And, like drdiver, to make sure that my time is limited, about two semesters a year, I teach business communication, or management classes at U of H as an adjunct.

I currently work as a tech writer for a small software company whose main product encrypts digital content for entertainment and other media companies who want to protect their content before distributing it online. Previously, I worked as a Web producer at the Walt Disney Co. and have done a variety of other things related to writing & Web development. (Actually, in my immediate past job, I worked as a diver at Sea World -- hence my moniker.)

My job can get quite dull, so I try to use my spare time to recreate (diving, anyone?). But when I want to make a little extra coin on the side, I write trivia questions for NTN (some of you may have played NTN's trivia game in sports bars and restaurants around the country). I've written for them on and off for 10 years (which amounts to almost 15,000 trivia questions).

Oh, and I also want to expand my writing experience into travel writing, which some of you may have noticed if you've visited my Web site.

Retired military....20+ years....

Now I work for a contractor that trains the military. We build communications systems...both hardware and software....and I travel all over the world and train soldiers on how to use the gear we build for them. Just got back from training a unit in PA....heading to NY Monday...and when I come back from NY...will do laundry and head out to Germany for three months.
