:cool2:Wes,

That water is definitely toooo cold on the West Coast. But here is a perfect trip for December 2006 (If the SD Gods are listening) that you could come and join us.

Start off doing a 6 day liveaboard doing the Eastern Fields, then head to Townsville for a couple of days and do the Youngla (sp) wreck….then finish off the trip at Heron Island!

Walter you should love the trip warm water, PNG and Australia!

Whatta guys think?

Well not sure I'm an SD God or not...but this does sound like a fabulous trip! Anyone else besides Scott and I interested???

I used to travel down there a lot (before becoming a diver). Now that I am diving I can't ever seem to make it down there. Australia is one of the few places that I would move to if I could. I absolutely love it!

I'm with Walter on this one.  I'll be on the East coast for almost a month this upcoming February 2006!!  Can't wait - tickets are booked, now to create the itinerary!

WHO-HOO!!!
:teeth:

:lmao: So where are you headed in Australia? Your first time?

If you need any info. I have been there 4 times. I have dove from the Northern part of the GB to the Southern part and a few places in between. Heron Island is a place you do not want to miss!

Australia is wonderful :teeth:

:lmao: Is anybody interested in this trip?? If so here is a few more specifics.

The liveaboard that does the Eastern Fields is normally a 10 to 15 day trip. If SD chartered the boat we could probably do a 5 to 7 day trip. This is PNG, we will see the Very Big Stuff and alot of Small Stuff (from everything I have heard this is the finest diving in the world!).

We then catch a plane to Townsville rent a van and drive south to Alva Beach, spend the night and in the AM take a 40 minute ride to the S.S. Yongala. This is supposed to be one of the top 5 wrecks in the world! (Or we could do a long day/boat trip out of Townsville).

We then go back to Townsville and catch a flight the next day to Gladstone...out to Heron Island by Helicopter or Boat. We do Heron Island for about 5 days it has Very Good diving and a few Excellents thrown in. Heron Island is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

Then an optional trip for a couple of days in Sidney. Sidney is a wonderful city. If you take the Best of San Diego and San Francisco....you have Sidney!

This would be a small group probably 10 to 12 people. In December (2006) Water temps should be in between 78 to 82.

This trip has to be planned a 18 months or so in advance.

So do i have anybody interested??? Let the SD Gods know so they/we can start planning :diver:

:cheerleader: Attention Attention....Calling 10 to 12 SingleDivers!

Is anybody interested in this TRIP? PNG, Yongala Wreck and GBR! This will be a trip of a lifetime for some of us.....No reason for the SD Gods to spend hours working on this trip if no one is interested.......so if you are.... let the powers to be... Know!

If not....you will read my dive report one of these days :teeth:

I was in wounderful Australia in May. I love the country and friendly people. Went diving to Cod Hole on 2 liveaboard boats. Good Diving and cool critters. Also did a couple of dives in Guam with Jim P.(maninthesea) He was a great guide and a wealth of info on Guam!
