Chie-I can't just stand idly by and let you wear old contacts without suggesting you try the dailies while you are diving. They are gonna need to be thrown out post-dive anyways.
Trust me, I deal with contacts and contact lens overwear/abuse everyday. When contacts are old they have more deposits on them. More deposits=less Oxygen transmission. Less Oxygen=more eye infections. If you overwear your contacts and then get yucky sea or lake water in your eyes on top of that...you are asking for trouble because your eye will not be able to fight off infection like it should (b/c of lack of oxygen).
Ok, I'll stop preaching...that's just my advice to you girl.

Let me just chime in from personal experience. 30+ years of wearing contacts has caused my eyes to become extremely dry. Be careful of how you take care of them, 'Chie.

I wear soft "regular", bring a spare (just in case). I clean - soak - clean them every night.

I've yet to have a problem.

Just keep the dive knives away from each other's hoses and BCs, OK?

I just don't know if I could ever dive with a Bruin though.

i don't bleed burnt orange, so i'm okay...probably same with you, j. besides, what if your forever was a bruin....you'd change your mind really quick about diving with her. it'll be like the parades here where people have two dogs - one decked in orange (and the crowd roars!!!!) and one decked in some stupid school's maroon (drip.......drip........drip.....)

I lived in Austin from 91-93. That's why I still stand at attention whenever they start reading Dickenson...
