Isn't a quark the sound a duck makes?
Quadratic equations? Why does math ability signify intelligence? I have never had to use one in "real" life?
Republican? I'd never be that desperate. Unless he had a gorgeous bod and was a good kisser.

Close enough on the first! At least it exhibits humor (another of my prerequisites).

Math ability simply illustrates another side of intelligence.

Total agreement on the third if you substitute she for he.

Well, I can balance a checkbook. Actually, I work for an educational services company and I just joined a study group. I'm on triple digit addition. In a year, I should be on alegra and in 5 years, I'll be doing calculus. Not bad considering I flunked algebra 1 & 2 in high school and managed to get through college without having to take any math. :birthday:

There is an abundance of those here in Las Vegas... They really get a twisted veiw of reality... They look at you and all they see is a wallet with legs....

I believe there's a word for them... now what was it... almost there...

Oh yeah. They are called Prostitutes.

I'd have to say being a prostitute is defiantely a deal breaker. If for nothing else the typical dinner table conversation of "Hi honey, how was work today?" would be just too weird. :lmao:

Just remember, you're not payin' for the sex ... you're payin' for them to leave with no strings afterward!

Believe me, I have had a number of "offers" from women who wouldn't know what a quark was, who hadn't read Joseph Campbell (or even know who he was), who couldn't solve a simple quadratic equation, or were dyed in the wool Republicans.

Isn't a quark the sound a duck makes?

Same reason I'd never date, let alone ever get serious with, a Democrat.

I figured you might rise to that one, Jamie! Good thing political party affiliation isn't important relative to dive friends.... just lovers.

Yes, whatever you do, don't tell Wendi!

Seriously, one of the things that bothers me about the world today is the lack of courtesy many people show towards others. We see it in the polarization around political positions, the failure to yield to others on a sidewalk, the gossip, etc.

I honestly would not consider a person's political position to be an impedi, ent to friendship, diving as buddies, etc., unless they were really rabid and disrespectful of my pinko liberal tendencies. I might not marry a woman whose political position was too far removed from mine, but as for being friends or lovers... other factors would dominate in my decision.

A deal breaker? Perhaps if she said "NO!" in a forceful way. Come to think of it, a few of my best relationships were with women who said that, creating a challenge for me to use my creative skills to win her over (often involving written communication and humor).

nah, annasea, one in place of a d-ring, and one ready for a scooter ring, but both actually barbells - one straight and one curved.  the top one wasn't that bad.  i said '@!&%' but didn't shout or cry or tear up or anything.  and no local anesthesia or general drunkenness!  bottom one i just went 'ssst' on a sharp intake of breath, but i cheated & had used local anesthesia cream (emla).

A scooter ring? :)

I'm surprised the top one wasn't that bad; I thought it'd hurt like hell. Mind you, I guess it depends on the person.

Did the emla actually work? If so, good for you! (I tried it for one piercing and it did absolutely nuthin'. I then used Betacaine when I tried having electrolysis done to clean up the few remaining hairs after laser hair removal and nothing again. :birthday:)

I guess I really am an HSP after all. :birthday: (Highly Sensitive Person)

yeah, i think the emla worked. it has to sit about 30 min, but if longer than an hour it starts to fade. then again, maybe it worked for you, too, but since it still hurt you think it didn't. maybe it took you from unbearable to really really bad - who knows? we could do a side-by-side test... :o but nothing wrong with being highly sensitive...
