Can anyone tell me how to put a link to this site in my signature on SB.com? Do I just put in the site address under "signature"?

Go to the signature area and then click on the hyperlink icon. You'll get a pop-up for what you want it to read (such as Single Divers), then OK and then you get another pop-up for the URL (http://www.singlediv...m/SingleDivers/).

Let me know if you need more help.

Zendiver,

Wouldn't it be better to just advertise the whole site instead of a link for the Board? Actually, if people aren't yet members here, they won't be able to access this board.
I have a clickable linky thing on my SB.com signature and it works okay (I think!).

Diverlady's method will work, except sometimes it won't let me use the automatic hyperlink feature. I usually type (then I type in "http://www.singledivers.com/" and then close the bracket ] I then type in "SingleDivers.com" followed by [b]. That should work if the automatic hyperlink is being fussy. Only type the part I put in bold.

Yea!!! DiverLady...you are awesome! BTW...several of you have the site in your signature line and as a result we are getting referrals coming to check out our site. I added a new line asking where people heard about us and they keep saying they saw the link in an email signature!

So whoever has us in their email signature on other boards....cool...and THANKS!!!

I also put it in my Yahoo profile as a cool site to visit. :welcome:

And I filled in the "where did you hear about us" part in my profile but where does that show up? Or is that just for the "upper echelon" aka Admin/mods etc?

It shows up under "Information" in your profile to the left of your avatar. I like your answer.

I can't see it either. It must only be visible to Administrators. What do the rest of us care anyway? You made it here, that's enough.

Well, you see I'm reporting/asking/questioning anything I find that may be a bug. So, here's a field where data's been entered but is not visible to me. Since I test software for a living, I would question that behaviour and refer to the Business Design Guide documentation to determine how that field is supposed to behave. Zendiver, WreckWench and Walter are the "Business Design Guides" in lieu of the paper kind.

It's fine that just the Admins see it. As long as the info is appearing properly and in the appropriate place.

Diverlady,

You missed my point. I think you're doing a great job of helping find bugs.

It may have looked like I was coming down on you for pointing out an apparent bug. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sorry if it came across that way.

I was merely pointing out that wasn't data anyone other than the Admins needed to see. As long as you made it here it doesn't matter to the rest of us how you found the web site.

Ah, but I didn't enter into that field how I found this site. I entered something more amusing (in my opinion). Therein lies the disappointment. However, should members enter the true way they found this site, then I agree that we don't really need to know that.

Diverlady

A thought: If the Admins notice a trend as to how members are finding us, it could be a valuable tool that other members can use to also promote this website.
