I've been using the flaxseed for about a month or so now. I grind as much as my little coffee grinder will hold (about a 1/4 cup I think), then mix it in with frozen berries and top off with orange juice. Makes a great drink (and it is quick). I never have been good about staying diciplined to a schedule of vitamins and things, but with the busy lifestyle and high stress level that I have to deal with (and I'm sure I'm not alone in this), I feel that this is something necessary for health maintainence. And as a drink like that, its more of a treat than anything else (like getting to drink a milkshake everyday). I've lost a couple of pounds (and thats not my main goal, longevity is my goal ... so I can dive until I'm 100) .... and I feel pretty good... of course I will keep everyone posted on the progress that I make. I have to occasionally email WW with little nutrition questions as sometimes what she tells me goes in one ear and out the other, but I think I am on the right track .... I've still got some of the fast food (bad) habits to break, but as I keep the nutrition goal in sight, that will happen too.

I add mine to frozen strawberries, a banana, some papaya juice, some lecithin, some spirulina, and some protein powder. I grind it extra fine so that I don't get that gritty taste.

You're right, it's a treat, not like medicine. :birthday:

I am proud of both of you! And thank you for getting your flax from me...it is about $2 a month more than via other sources BUT it keeps American Farmers farming which is VERY important!

And keep up the good work...it will help you get thru the holidays without feeling the need to binge and splurge as much! (Yes it is a natural appeitite suppressant!)
