This morning, my Dad (and my best friend) passed on. I was very fortunate to have him as a Dad, and equally fortunate to have had him in my life for 53 years.

Two weeks ago, he was taken to the hospital with pneumonia, but it turned out that he died from congestive heart failure. He was 86.

He was a World War II veteran. He was also an Eagle Scout, and served for many years as a Scoutmaster.

Please remember him in your prayers.

Rick

Losing either a parent or a friend is tough. When they are both, it is truly a huge loss. Take care of yourself, and cherish those great memories.

My thoughts are with you.

Rick...so very sorry for what youre going through..as we reach this age where we begin to lose parents and friends (and as you stated both in one) all we can do is cling to our memories and friends.

I am sad for your loss. I am happy, however, that you had so many years together.

Rick, sorry to hear about you losing your dad. Even though it has been 20 years for me, I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
